vacation rental description
Herons' Roost Cabin is located on Holmes Harbor, approximately seven miles from the village of Langley and five miles from Freeland. Situated in second growth forest, this tranquil setting is ideal for a weekend getaway, writer's retreat, or as a home base to explore Wh idbey Island.
The property contains, not only forest, but the nearby pasture is home to two Shetland sheep, two Old English Southdowns and two dwarf pigmy goats. All would gladly welcome you and your family.
Although the cabin does not have a direct view of the water, there's a meandering trail through the forest to the beach located at Millionaire's Cove. The beach is ideal for beachcombing.
If you hear barking, it may not be the two resident Golden Retrievers, rather it may be a sea lion or Harbor Seals. Bald Eagles are often seen soaring on the air currents above the water. If you are very lucky you might get a glimpse of a gray whale or two as they feed in the Harbor. Of course, Heron are also in abundance.
Herons' Roost and Ewe Two farms was on the Whidbey Island Garden Tour for 2007.
