Kim's Cottage On the Beach in Fernandina Beach

Light and bright beach cottage on the ocean! This 2 BR, 1BA beach cottage is perfect for a couple looking to enjoy a quiet oceanfront retreat.  Casual and cozy, it is decorated with ocean blues and beach themes throughout. Located on the quiet northern end of Amelia Island in the quaint historic town of Fernandina Beach, the cottage sits up on stilts with a huge deck overlooking the pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean.  The only thing separating you from the water is a sandy one-way road that is used to access this and the surrounding beach cottages.  Escape from the cookie-cutter resorts at the south end of Amelia and enjoy the beach with the locals.  Relax and enjoy the beach knowing that there is no driving on the beach here and the City of Fernandina Beach lifeguards are on duty during the summer season.      

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and all new appliances (microwave, range, oven and refridgerator), for those evenings when you want to eat dinner on the deck.  It also has a stackable washer and dryer. The bedrooms have double beds. The living and dining areas look out onto the ocean. There is one TV, with Direct TV service.  The bathroom features a full size tub and shower.  The large deck spans the  front of the house offering fabulous ocean views and breezes.  Bed Linens and beach chairs are provided.  There is ample parking space for a boat or jet skis.  The cottage has central heating and air-conditioning as well as mulitple ceiling fans.  THERE IS NO INTERNET SERVICE OR LAND PHONE LINE AT THE COTTAGE!   

The quaint historic downtown of Fernandina Beach is located 1.5 miles away and is an easy walk or bike ride along the sidewalks.  Downtown Fernandina is the home of numerous restuarants, pubs, boutiques, ice cream and coffee shops as well as a thriving business district.  There are horse and carriage tours, as well as walking tours of the historic neighborhoods.

The cottage is only a few blocks from the entrance to Ft. Clinch State Park, which features biking and hiking trails, fishing pier, picnic areas, and secluded beach.  There is an abundance of wildlife, including deer roaming through the park.  The historic fort, located within the park is open for tours. 

Cumberland Island, Georgia is directly across the waterway from Ft. Clinch and there are local tours available for enjoying the beauty of the island from the water, or drive to St. Mary's Georgia (only 30 minutes away) and catch the ferry to spend a day hiking on Cumberland Island.     

The cottage is located one block away from the local Putt-Putt Golf area, which sells refreshments and is home to an oceanfront park and playground.  There is also an oceanfront restuarant located one block away which features an outside eating area and local musicians.

City of Fernandina Beach tennis courts are located approximately 1.0 mile away, between the cottage and the historic district.  There is also a city pool with an incredible kids pool/play area located .5 miles away.  These City of Fernandina Beach amenities may be utilized for a nominal fee.

There are numerous golf courses, including the City of Fernandina Golf Course within a 5 mile radius.  

Bicycle, scooter and kayak rentals are available from local vendors.  If you prefer a day of sport fishing, there are numerous charter boats located at the docks   downtown which offer half-day and full-day charters. 

High Season: April 1- Sept 10  $1,400 per week (MINIMUM RENTAL ONE WEEK)

Low Season: September 11- Mar 31 $150 per night/ $1,050 per week
