vacation rental description
Our home is a perfect place to get away, relax, unwind for a week, a month, or several months. All you need to pack are your clothes and personal items (your boat if you have one). Enjoy watching the shrimp boat fleet as it goes past your lanai as they go to work every night. Hernando Beach is a rural, residential Gulf Coast town with world class fishing. The area is famous as Tarpon Country-but there’s great fishing for Reds, Trout, Grouper, Snapper. More than one guest has caught their dinner from the dock! If lady luck is not on your side there are excellent restaurants here in Hernando Beach! If your heart is set on cooking your own seafood dinner that is not a problem. Our local fish market has locally caught fresh fish and shellfish. Shrimp, Stone Crab Claws (in season), Tuna, Grouper and Snapper are just some of the every day treats you will find our (local caught & fresh) Trader Bay Seafood Market! Have a Kayak? This is your place..... You can spend many hours exploring the back country waters or take a trip down the Weeki Wachee River....crystal clear and 72-degree water year round... you will most likely see Manatee during your trip. Tired after the trip... stop in a paddle up restaurant for a drink or food and watch the boats go past from your table on the second story deck.

house rental amenities
The kitchen, master bedroom, Dining Area, Screened Lanai & Pool, outdoor entertaining areas, sea wall and dock all offer views of the main channel that leads directly into the Gulf of Mexico. You can enjoy your favorite water sport from your own dock. In the evening and early morning can watch the shrimp boats come and go. Or you can stand in the heated pool enjoying your favorite beverage watching the boats leaving for the flats or gulf. Bring your boat and follow them out as you go out to see the beautiful sunset on the Gulf of Mexico. You will have a 20 foot floating dock right outside the back door. You can also fish off the dock (all kinds of fish come through the channel with the change of tides), or just relax on the back deck and enjoy the slow pace of Florida living.
Cook your favorite meal on the LP Gas Grill while you listen to the stereo on the screened in Lanai. The sunsets and sky are beautiful to enjoy from either the back deck, dock, Lanai or pool. Or is you prefer at the end of the day you can relax in the oversize soaking tub in the master bath. Then relax with a book, one of many games or movie from our extensive library.
activities and attractions in Hernando Beach Gulf Coast Central
The Area: The home is located 10-minutes from the Weeki Wachee Springs and the Weeki Wachee Water Park. Canoe and Kayak rentals are available at the Weeki Wachee Water Park as well as two other locations on the river. The Weeki Wachee River is a State of Florida park. The river is crystal clear and in the low 70's year round. It is a pristine Florida river. During the winter Manatee swim up the river and are often seen by those going up and down the river. Wildlife abounds along the river and you may see otter, raccoons, osprey, hawks, alligators and other wildlife. The river is also excellent for a 'float' on a raft or inner tube. The Buccaneer Bay water park opens March 28, 2009. This park offers thrilling water flume rides, river boat rides and a white sandy beach.
For the boaters!!!: The 8x20 Floating dock has a Jet Ski / Waverunner dock attached so if you have one bring it with you. Power & Water are available at the sea wall so clean up of your boat after a day of fishing is easy. In addition to the two tables (with seating for 8) in the lanai an additional glass top table with seating for 4 is located on one of the two rear patios. The entire back yard is elevated and covered with brick pavers. There is parking for motor homes, large boat trailers on the adjacent lot so parking is never a problem.
Watch The Manatees Go Up the River: If you enjoy people watching you will enjoy sitting on the outside deck at one of the local restaurants watching the boats, kayaks, canoes, boats, fish and in the winter Manatees going past on the crystal clear Weeki Wachee River while you enjoy lunch, dinner or your favorite beverage. All of this is 10 minutes from your front door.
Golf: For a change of pace, there are numerous golf courses nearby, including some championship courses. Two of our local public courses are rated 9th & 48th in the country. With over 20 to choose from you will be busy if you’re a golfer.
