vacation rental description
Beautiful Mid-Coast Maine
Located in South Thomaston
Escape the hot, sticky city to sit atop the picturesque St. Georges River in the backyard of this charming 2 bedroom, 1-1/2 bath cottage for a relaxing and blissful vacation. Strategically situated at the end of a private road the only thing between you and the water are a few tranquil steps. The tidal river recedes twice daily as the tides move in and out. At low tide, watch the local clammers sift through the muddy river bottom searching for a hearty dozen steamers for dinner. The large lawn overlooks the river and is a perfect place for a friendly game of Croquet, Frisbsee, Bacci Ball or Badminton.
House sleeps four with two single beds and one full. But there is plenty of room for a few extra in sleeping bags.
Within 10 minutes of downtown Rockland and within 20 minutes of picturesque Port Clyde, Tenant's Harbor, Rockport and more. The sandy beach of Drift Inn beach is a short drive down the road.
An easy trip from the West Coast -- fly Jet Blue or Virgin America direct from LAX to Boston, rent a car and make the beautiful drive North approximately 3 1/2 hours. Or, fly into JFK for a short stop over, then on to Portland, Maine to rent a car and drive the 1 1/2 hours into town. There is a one car garage and plenty of room for more cars.
