Maxwelton Back Beachhouse in Whidbey Island

This spacious, 1700 sf mid-century modern back beach house is 1/2 block from Maxwelton Beach, arguably one of Whidbey's nicest beaches, with over 5 miles of pristine SANDY coastline. 

Mackie Waterfront park is a short 1 minute walk, featuring a public boat launch, beach access, baseball field (with old fashioned grandstand for the fans) playground, outdoor shower and restroom, and even a dog water fountain.  Kids can safely walk to the beach and back, as Maxwelton Road is a dead-end.

Kids, sand and pets are all welcome at this back beach home.  The large 15,000 sf lot features a tree swing, bocce ball, badminton 4 bikes - 2 kid, 2 adult and inflatable Zodiac boat.

The beach is marvelous.  At high tide, launch the 3 sit aboard kayaks provided - stay in close to shore, and paddle for hours to the exposed sand bars, or venture out with the pilot whales! Bring your sand castle making skills, as this is the sandiest beach on the island. 

Then sit on the back deck, bar-b-que, then walk over to the public beach to enjoy the beautiful western sunsets.  Build a fire in the backyard firepit and start the marshmallows roasting. 

4 bedrooms with high quality mattresses - 2 queens, 2 doubles and 4 twins (bunk bed). 

Fully furnished living room with 3 couches, 2 loveseats and 1 recliner.  Cable, wifi internet available, TV/DVD and board games in the large living room and lounge.

Well-equipped kitchen includes 2 dining tables for large gatherings.  Large back deck with bar-be-que. Parking for 4 vehicles, and RV's.

Walking on the beach for hours. Island Greens 3 par golf course where hole 4 has an apple tree; downtown Langley with it's myriad of bakeries and local artists galleries, and stellar restaurants. Fantastic farmer's market at Bayview, Greenbank Cellars Winery, Whidbey Island Winery.  Hours of play at spooky Ft. Casey - bring a kite on windy days.  Playgound of Dreams - huge playground with wooden castles at city park; Biking anywhere on the country lanes.  Geo-caching at Whidbey Woods.  Island County Fair in August - take a step back in time!  Mountain biking too!

October-May $225/night, 2 night minimum; $950/week. 

June-September $300/night, 4 night minimum; $1750/week

Holidays $2100/week.  Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July

Additional guests over 8 - $20 per guest/night

$100 Cleaning and garbage fee per rental period.  RV and Tent fee: $25 each Port-a-potty rental for parties exceeding 10 required, current rate applies. $50 Pet fee per dog.  No cats.
