vacation rental description
Seal Watch Cottage has just been completely renovated from top to
bottom. The home overlooks Lubec Narrows, the ocean channel between
Lubec and Campobello Island, Canada. Seals love to surf through the
channel and frolic in the fast currents -- and you can watch them
play right from your first or second floor deck! Both floors of this
two story home have full decks for taking in the views of the
channel, Campobello Island, Mulholland Lighthouse, and on out to sea.
The two second floor bedrooms each have a double sliding glass door
that open onto a deck to capture the stunning views. Cathedral
ceilings with skylights allow you to lie in bed and view the stars or
watch eagles fly overhead. There is little light pollution in Lubec
so our stars shine bright and you can even see the Milky Way!
The fully equipped kitchen has all new counters and cabinets.
Completely equipped with all appliances including a dishwasher. The
cottage has high speed internet and free long distance phone calls
for those who absolutely cant tear themselves away from the rest of
the world. For those who want to leave the rest of the world behind,
a 3 mile long sandy beach is just a short stroll away. The cottage
has two full baths; each has a four foot wide shower with built in
seat. The master bedroom has a queen bed; the second bedroom has a
full bed. There is also a fold out sofa in the living area. Bed and
bath linen provided. Washer and dryer. Sorry, no smoking indoors. Tunr over day is Sunday.

activities and attractions in Lubec Maine
The Lubec area is host to three state parks, a national park, an
international park, a national wildlife refuge, and several nature
preserves, all of which offer a variety of well maintained hiking
trails. Lubec has several sandy beaches (a rarity this far Down
East), bold coastal cliffs, coastal rain forest, wildflower meadows,
and peat bogs. Lubec's West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is one of the
most photographed lighthouses in the country. Lighthouse lovers can
visit 4 lighthouses within a 10 mile radius of Lubec. Local whale,
wildlife, and puffin tours offer the chance to observe nature up
close or you can rent a kayak or canoe to explore both salt and fresh
water havens. Local nature and history tours will help you learn
about the ecology and culture of the area. You can also golf, swim in
freshwater lakes, visit local galleries and craft shops, attend
concerts, and visit local festivals. The area is rich in history -- from
the first naval battle of the Revolutionary to Maine's own "Cannery
Row" which lined the waterfronts of the Downeast coast. You'll find
it all here -- rich history, spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and
friendly people.
