vacation rental description
Our Daylily Cottage is a light filled home in Hulls Cove, on Mount Desert Island, sharing its 2 acre lot with a log cabin vacation rental. The dog friendly cottage has 2 bedrooms, one bath, and sits well back from the road in a landscaped setting. ( unlike many vacation rentals in the area, you cannot see the houses from the road.) Being a mile from the Visitors Center in Acadia National Park and on the free Explorer Bus route, it is a convenient yet private spot close to it all.
Its charming kitchen is the product of old Yankee thrift and ingenuity, comprising of old washboards and recycled glass and wood for some of the cabinets and counter top.
The adjoining living room is bright and sunny, with ceiling fan and propane fireplace. The first bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed. The second bedroom has a full bed, sitting area, and its own deck with sliding glass door. Come stay in our clean, uncluttered home for your Maine vacation!
house rental amenities
The kitchen is well equipped with side by side fridge, dishwasher, double sink, self cleaning oven, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, etc. Linens are provided. All flooring is hardwood, laminate, or tile. Hot water baseboard heat and a southern exposure make for year round economical comfort. Cable TV and WiFi.
activities and attractions in Bar Harbor Maine
The first thing we recommend is a trip up Cadilac Mountain. The view is awesome, and it gives a perspective of the area and what you are going to experience on Mount Desert Island.
Take a stroll! Walk in any of our unique small towns, see their shops, parks, docks and working harbors. In Acadia and about you can walk woods, trails, cliffs, mountains, carriage paths, rugged coastline, beaches and visit a lighthouse. Go beachcombing for rocks, driftwood, shells and seaglass. The beach at Seal Harbor makes the best sand castles. Echo Lake is a favorite for swimming.
Get on a boat out on the ocean! There are nature tours, whale watches, masted schooners, lobster boats, Diver Ed, mailboats, ferries, lighthouse tours. Being on the water and looking back at our Island, its a sight you'll long remember.
