Vineyard Chalet is located in Chalk Hill PA just 10 minutes from Nemacolin Resort and Ohiopyle. This Chalet is the perfect place for your next getaway! In addition to a fully equipped kitchen, the main floor has a full bath and bedroom. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and a half bath. One bedroom offers a deck overlooking Christian Klay Winery across the street. There is another deck off the sitting area upstairs which overlooks the woods and patio below. The living room boasts a wood stove, Direct TV service and DVD player, and a fold out sofa.  A private patio is a wonderful place for family picnic or nighttime star gazing. You might even catch sight of a deer feeding at the edge of our large grassy lawn.  Outdoor table, chairs and firewood is provided. This is a very comfortable home with sleeping for up to 6 people. Wonderful House, Close to Everything, will be back

My husband, friends and I are still beaming over the delightful time we had at the Vineyard Chalet.
The property is peacefully secluded yet easy to find. You'll see signs on Rt. 40 that direct you down the road to the Christian Klay Winery. The house is next to the winery, which was a nice meeting place when our other friends arrived from NJ (we're from Ohio), and my brother who happened to be camping in the area. If you use gps or google maps, you will get better results if you enter the address for the winery. Yet, we all found it easily. And, we all found that staying next to a winery was, well..convenient! Especially on our first day there, when we just all wanted to kick back and catch up. We had a nice picnic there until it was time to check in, then we just moved the party across the street to the lovely house.
The house is very clean and welcoming. One of us in our group has knee problems, so it was perfect that there was a bedroom on the main floor that connects to the main bathroom. My husband and I stayed in the front bedroom with a beautiful view of the vineyard. We all thought the beds were perfectly comfortable, not squeaky or lumpy as other rentals. The half bath on the second floor was a big plus. The kitchen is beautiful, spacious and fully stocked with new wares. I've been to places where they have just one old fry pan. Their cookery set is newer and nicer than mine at home. The knife set was also nice, new and sharp. I did not see any dish towels, but we brought paper towels, which are not provided and we did use often. Bring paper towels.
We loved the the side porch. It's on the opposite side of the house, so it's quite private. If the weather was better, we would have used the fire pit, maybe the grill. We all thought the grill was too dirty to use, unless we cleaned it or used lots of foil. Granted, no one feels like cleaning a grill on vacation, especially if it's someone else's mess. Personally, I believe that if one uses the grill, it should be that person's responsibility to clean it, just as one has to wash the dishes they use. However, if it is not done, the owner should make sure the grill is fit for the next group. An owner wouldn't leave out dishes or an unmade bed for a new renter. It doesn't have to be spotless, just no charred bits of old food in grease.
We also wished for larger coffee cups and a bin for the 1/2 bath. The DVD player works, but no TV. Tricia was friendly and helpful on phone & email.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

The Vineyard Chalet was clean and very cozy. We were very comfortable there and felt like home. The family enjoyed the fireplace outback and we had hot dogs and marshmallows so it was like camping but we had a comfortable bed to sleep in!!

There is a winery right next door but we did not have the time to visit.

It is located in the country and we found it very peaceful.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway
