The Cabell House in Charleston

Located In Charleston's most exclusive historic residential neighborhood, The CABELL HOUSE is a private home located just steps from the Battery Park (White Point Gardens) and high Battery. The house has BED AND BREAKFAST rooms available for reservations all year round.  Calendar times when  the bedrooms are not occupied  and have not been reserved, THE FULL HOUSE MAY BE BOOKED IN ITS ENTIRETY. Contact the owner to determine availability. The more advanced the booking, the more likely the entire house is available for rental. 

Three of the bedrooms have 4-poster mahogany beds and one has a mahogany sleigh bed. The house and bedrooms are fully furnished with family antiques, and oriental rugs. Each bedroom has its own private bath.  Each bedroom is appointed with a small digital flat-screen cableTV, a Keurig single serve coffeemaker (also serves breakfast teas, chai tea, cocoa, cappucino etc... ) There are Georgian mantles in 3 bedrooms and throughout the house.

The downstairs includes a well appointed living room, a dining room with a large Sheraton mahogany table that seats 8, an 18 bottle wine chiller and coffee station.  Also downstairs, a full kitchen with modern appliances, microwave/grill combo oven, dishwasher and eat-in booth.  A dark wood-paneled den/library off of the kitchen is furnished with a large work desk, leather sofa and easy chair, a desktop computer (available for your use) cable television and DVD/VHS player.  WiFi is accessable throughout the house. 

The piazza (porch) downstirs is fully furnished for year-round sitting. It has a  ceiling fan, settee, rockers, and side tables, ideal for early morning coffee or a relaxing glass of wine in the evening.

The market area with restaurants, shops, art galleries and nightlife - all within easy walking distance. All downtown historic historic homes open for tours are within 1 to 3 blocks. Beaches (Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, Folly Beach) are 20 to 30 minutes away.

Ample off-street parking (4 to 6 cars) in 2 driveways.

You can either walk or ride the trolley to absolutely everything the historic Charleston peninsula has to offer including: the visitor's center, the old market, the College of Charleston, the new library and aquarium, the Aiken-Rhett house, the harbor and all Charleston museums.  

Access to local beaches is an easy ride. 20 to 25 minutes to Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, John’s island, Kiawah Island and Seabrook. 

The Cabell House is a fully furnished and fully equipped four bedroom private home in the historic district of downtown Charleston (normally in use as a B&B) but available by the night (2 night minimums), week or month for private house rentals. Great for family gatherings, wedding or special event groups, couples or friends traveling together, reunions, girl getaways, special interest groups, group convention attendance, extended corporate stays, etc...  A security deposit by a credit card on file appropriate to the length of the rental will be held and refunded on satisfactory return to the house.  Rental rate may be negotiable during some calendar periods.
