Vacation Rental Description

Nationally rated as a "Superior Small Lodging,"  Cottages by the Ocean is a small complex 
of charming Key West-style studio cottages just north of Fort Lauderdale in Pompano 
Beach.  Each cottage is well-appointed with all of the comforts of home.  These original 
1940s resort cottages are fully renovated and impecably maintained. 

Experience a great location on a quiet street less than two blocks to one of South Florida's 
best beaches with lifeguards, cabanas and a fishing pier.  Take a short walk to dozens of 
great restaurants, shops, live entertainment, snorkel/dive and charter fishing boats, boat 
rentals, gourmet seafood shop, day spas, bank, post office and pharmacy.  Take a longer 
walk down the beach to see the restored lighthouse across the inlet.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Each studio cottage has a king size bed and sleeper sofa.  Full kitchen, high beamed ceilings, 
paddle fans, A/C, large-screen TV, stereo system, videos/CDs/books, family games, phone/
fax/voicemail, large screened-in porches with table and chairs, fenced yard, BBQ grill, bed 
linens and towels, beach chairs and towels, beach toys, beach cooler.

A one bedroom cottage is also available with queen bed and queen sleeper, extra large 
ktichen, new wood floors and some original terazzo.

For the comfort of future guests, no smoking is allowed. 

Activities and Attractions

Water:  Walk across the beach road to award-winning "Blue Wave" beach with picnic and 
play areas and lifeguards; snorkel and dive trips 3x daily; charter fishing boats, party 
fishing boats, public fishing pier, surfing, jet skis and boat rentals, gambling cruises.

Restaurants:  some of the best restaurants in all of South Florida are a short walk or drive 
away.  Dozens of really good ones, including waterfront dining, in all price ranges.

Shopping:  walk to local beach shops.  Drive to many high-end shopping malls including 
the new Pompano Citi Centre mall, trendy Las Olas Boulevard, also Sawgrass Mills outlet 
mall, Swap Shop world’s largest outdoor flea market, Festival Flea Market (giant indoor flea 
market).

Cultural:  walk or drive to local establishments with live music, drive to world-class 
Broward Performing Arts Center, Discovery Museum, Art Museum, IMAX theater, 
nightclubs, dancing, comedy clubs, and all sorts of local and regional festivals.

Sports:  Visit the spectacular new Isle of Capri Casino (opened May 2007) right next door 
to Pompano Harness Track.  All professional sporting events are represented at nearby 
arenas, plus Jai Alai, car racing, tennis, golf, local gyms.

Eco Tourism:  drive to Everglades for airboat and swamp buggy rides, photography, Indian 
reservations, alligator farms, nature trails, kayaking, fishing, bird watching.

Vacation Rental Rates

Nightly rates are available (three night minimum stay) from April 19, 2008 to December 12, 2008
(please inquire).  A seven night minimum is required during the rest of the year.  Rates for 
holidays and special events may be higher. For longer stays, every fourth week is free or 
discounted per the schedule below.  

Rates:

4/19/08-12/12/08: 

(Studio) $500/week or $1,500/4 weeks; (1-bedroom) $600/week or $1,800/4 weeks 

12/13/08-1/30/09: 

(Studio) $950/week or $3,200/4 weeks; (1-bedroom) $1075/week or $3,500/4 weeks

1/31/09-2/27/09: 

(Studio) $1050/week or $3,500/4 weeks); (1-bedroom) $1,200/week or $3,900/4 weeks

2/28/09-4/24/09: 

(Studio) $950/week or $3200/4 weeks; (1-bedroom) $1075/week or $3,500/4 weeks

A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation.  The balance plus 11% taxes, $75 or 
$100 exit cleaning fee and a $500 security deposit are due 30 days prior to arrival. We 
accept MasterCard, VISA, Discover and AMEX.

Check in begins at 4 p.m.  Check out is by 10 a.m.
