Vacation Rental Description

            ~~ Cozy Lake-Front Cottage with Sunrise Views ~~
              ~~ Michigan's "Tip of the Mitt" area ~~
        ~~ Near Burt and Mullett Lakes and other resort areas ~~ 
                           
     Our Lakeside Getaway sits directly on the shores of beautiful Black Lake, a 4x6 mile, all-
sports lake only minutes away from Cheboygan, Mackinac City, and other Great Lake destinations like 
Mackinac Island, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Bright and cheery both inside and out, you can watch 
the sunrise or view Black Mountain Recreation Area just across the lake. 
     Bring your boat and tie up at our dock, or rent a boat at Black River Marina (email for 
number), only a few miles up the road. Swim from the shoreline or dock (water's warm, and lake 
bottom is sandy), and just toss in a line to catch perch, bass or bluegill. 
Jet-skis and other water toys can be rented also (email for phone number).
     If you’re looking for bigger sport fish such as walleye, pike, small mouth bass or muskie, try 
your luck out in the lake's deeper parts. Our lake is known for its fishing! Right off our 
shoreline, about 200 yards or so, is one of the best places to catch perch, walleye and 
pike. We have had many fish-fries ourselves.
   You'll love to relax around our lakeside fire pit in the evenings and roast  marshmallows, then 
watch the moon rise over the lake. 

Vacation Rental Amenities

    Our cottage is newly remodeled with all the comforts of home. It features modern appliances 
(plus microwave, coffee maker, toaster and toaster oven) in the fully equipped kitchen, and includes 
a washer and dryer.
    The master bedroom has a comfy, queen-sized bed, and there are twin beds in the guest bedroom. 
In addition, the living room sleep sofa has a queen-sized Beauty Rest mattress.
    The enclosed sunporch is perfect for your kids' game playing, or relax in the mornings with your 
coffee for lake and loon watching. 
Sturgeon (Black Lake is the sturgeon capital) have been known to "porpoise" out in the lake. And 
bald eagles roost & feed nearby. 
    All cookwear and utensils are provided, plus there is DISH TV with 60 channels and a DVD player. 
    Bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided if requested. Pillows and blankets are available with 
rental.

    Onaway State Park and campground (as well as Aloha SP) are only 
minutes away as well. 
    Lorenzo's, the local restaurant up the road, is family run and 
operated, and has eat-in or take-out dining along with great 
pizza. Plus, there are loads of other restaurants around the lake 
and in nearby Onaway or Cheboygan. Fresh perch is on on the menu in many of them.
    Nearby Ocqueoc Falls are open for swimming and water play 
in the summer.
   Casinos are located in Petoskey and St. Ignace.
   Golf enthusiast? You'll find many public golf courses nearby.
   Into Off-Road riding or ATV-ing? DNR courses and trails that are 
marked and mapped are abundant on our road (N. Black River Rd) and at Black Lake Recreation area.
       

Vacation Rental Rates

                       ~~ Book Now for Summer 2008 ~~
Terms: Summer rental fee (Sat. 4 pm to Sat. 10 am) from mid-June thru Labor Day, $800 per week, plus 
$150 security deposit. Shorter stays (3-6 nights) allowed if you book 7-10 days before week that 
isn't yet reserved. 
NO CLEANING FEE: Leave cottage in same clean condition, and deposit is fully refundable.
Cancellation policy: Will be provided upon booking.
