Fernstone Retreat is tucked away on 450 private acres adjoining State Gamelands in the Laurel Mountains.  Built in 1940 by James Hankins, a prominent local businessman, and used as a mountain retreat and conference center for prominent politicians and business owners of the day. Some of these notable people include President’s Richard Nixon and Dwight D Eisenhower. The original integrity of the décor and feeling has been preserved throughout the property. The complex is architecturally designed in a hunting lodge motif with the main lodge (Corral) and game room (The Pit) having cathedral ceilings, rich wood paneling and huge stone fireplaces. Fernstone Retreat offers The White House which sleeps 5 and The Bunk House suites which sleep up to 30. The White House:  Fully equipped kitchen, Great Room, 3 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen and 1 Twin bed)  2 full bathrooms.  (The White House may sometimes be available as a separate rental.)

The Bunkhouse Suites:  4 individual Suites sleeps 6 each with 2 double beds and 1 bunk bed.  Full bathroom in each suite.  Additional sleeping with twin beds on the enclosed sleeping porch.  Shared washer/dryer. (The Bunkhouse Suites may sometimes be available as a separate rental.)

The Pit (Gameroom) offers bumper pool, darts, ping pong, shuffleboard, arcade games, board games, piano, wet bar, stove, apartment sized refrigerator, fireplace,and lots of seating.

The Corral (main Lodge) offers fully equipped kitchen, large stone fireplace, living area, dining area with oversized table, large flat screen satellite TV, and two private bathrooms.

2 Night Minimum Stay Required

WEEKENDS:  Fernstone Retreat can be rented for $1500.00 per night with full access to The White House, The Bunkhouse Suites, Game Room, the Lodge, and all outdoor amenities.  Additional nights may be discounted according to group size and functions. 

WEEK NIGHTS: $1200.00

WEEKLY RATES:  Weekly rates are based on group size and functions.

HOLIDAY WEEKENDS: $1500 per night with a 3 night minimum stay.

NEW YEAR'S EVE: $1800 per night with a 3 night minimum stay.

SPECIAL RATES~ACCOMMODATIONS:  We do offer last minute bookings (7 days or less prior to arrival date) at discounted rates.  We also offer the White House only at a discounted rate for last minute bookings.
