vacation rental description
Escape to the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the sounds of the Shenandoah River. Located just 75 minutes from the Capital Beltway, The Chalet is the perfect getaway for couples, families or a small group of friends (2-6 people). John Muir wrote "I am in the mountains and the mountains are in me." That is exactly how you will feel when you step onto the wrap around deck with one of the most spectacular views in the Valley. The Chalet is designed with the mountains in mind. From most of the living areas in the Chalet, including the main bedroom, you can take in a postcard view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Chalet offers two bedrooms upstairs, both with Queen beds, as well as a double futon downstairs, and two full baths. (one on each floor). The kitchen is fully equipped and is only a step away from either an 8' x 39' outdoor deck or your own spacious 10' x 20' screen porch. On the screen porch you will find a table and chairs for outdoor dining and a hammock where you can lie back, relax and listen to the s ounds of the Shenandoah River. For more relaxation step into a 4 person Jacuzzi hot tub under the stars and watch the full moon rise over the mountains. The interior of the cabin is accented with rustic knotty pine trim and abounds with natural light. Enjoy all the beauty and authenticity of a fireplace with the convenience of a gas log fire situated where you can view it from the dining and living areas. For those who would like to have a real fire or want that camping feeling there is an outdoor fire pit.
Our river access is only a 1/2 mile walk from the chalet. We are also within a half an hour of many popular attractions such as canoeing or tubing on the historic Shenandoah River, hiking in the Shenandoah National Park, horseback riding, or fly-fishing on a mountain stream. You can take a drive along the Skyline Drive, explore the depths of Luray Caverns, or just browse for antiques in downtown Luray. For children there is Jellystone Park with miniature golf and the Luray Reptile Center and Petting Zoo. Massanutten Ski Resort is only 45 minutes away.
The Chalet is a great base for year round activities in the mountains of Virginia. Come enjoy the privacy of your very own cabin in the woods.
