This welcoming 5-bedroom home lies near the 10th hole on Redtail Mountain's beautiful (and challenging) golf course.  Play golf, take a walk and enjoy the breathtaking scenery, relax on either the upper or lower deck, and enjoy each other's company in either of the two living rooms. 

The house easily sleeps ten people, with one queen-sized bed, two double beds, and four twin beds.  The first-floor bedroom opens out onto a screened-in porch, while one bedroom on the second floor leads out to an open deck.  A floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace in the second-floor living room overlooks the combination kitchen-living room on the first floor, with 100-year-old wide-plank pine floors from the owners' former farmhouse.

If you enjoy the outdoors, the town of Mountain City is surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest.  You're also 18 miles to Damascus, with easy access to the Appalachian Trail and the Creeper Trail.  (Numerous rental companies will shuttle you to the top of White Mountain for a bike trip adults and kids can all enjoy.)  You're 20 miles Watauga Lake, 28 miles to South Holston Lake, and just an hour to both Grandfather Mountain, Roan Mountain State Park, and the ski slopes.

If you're looking for activities, you're close to Tweetsie, 30 minutes to Abingdon and the Barter Theater, 30 minutes to Boone, and 45 minutes to Blowing Rock.
