We are Southern Illinois' destination for a secluded and peaceful getaway. We are luxurious, fully equipped log homes set on 95 acres, available to you for a few days, a week, or even longer. Our cabins were built specifically for guests who want to get away from the busy realities of life and just enjoy the simple things. Enjoy fishing in our lakes, hunting, the wildlife and beautiful sunsets from the deck. We are an easy ten minutes from Carbondale and Southern Illinois University, and within easy driving distances to the Southern Illinois Wine Trail, Southern Illinois lakes, Shawnee National Forest, Giant City State Park, and the DuQuoin Fairgrounds.

Great Getaway!

We had a fantastic stay at the Eagle's Nest cabin in Southern Wynds. Extremely peaceful! We loved sitting on the back (or front) porch playing games with friends while enjoying the beautiful weather and great view of the lake.

The owner did a great job at making us feel welcome! She remembered every little touch and spoiled us rotten with extra little gifts. I believe we were the first to stay there, and we want to make a tradition of going back every year!

I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a break from the busyness of life. The property was extremely clean and even more lovely than what the pictures show. There are things to do outside of the property if you drive about 20 minutes in any direction. One of the main reasons we picked this property was that it was a beautiful oasis in the middle of nowhere. We had planned on making a day trip to the Little Grand Canyon, but decided against it because we were having too much fun just relaxing on the property. This is probably not the best place if you are looking for a long list of activities to do, or if you are not a fan of nature; but, if you are truly wanting to get away and enjoy nature, I can't think of a better place to do it!

We had a fantastic stay at the Eagle's Nest cabin in Southern Wynds. It was exactly the kind of vacation that we were looking for. Beautiful cabin, beautiful view, away from busyness and distractions. Extremely peaceful! We loved sitting on the back (or front) porch playing games with friends while enjoying the beautiful weather and great view of the lake. All the comforts of a beautiful inside, with a gorgeous spot for outdoor activities all around the outside.

The owner did a great job at making us feel welcome! She remembered every little touch and spoiled us rotten with extra little gifts. I believe we were the first to stay there, and we want to make a tradition of going back every year!
