Relaxing Retreat

My family and I stayed at the lake house on Owasco Lake (rental 73925) [in July 2011] and we all had a great time. There was something for everyone and every
age to do from swimming, kayaking, fishing, grilling and napping in the hammock.
Even though it rained a few days that week we still found plenty to do like
watching movies, playing games and drinking great local wines.

The house was spacious, clean and cozy and we felt this was our 'home away from home' that week. The houses next door aren't too close so you still feel like you have privacy, but it is conveniently and closely located to grocery and convenience stores to run for last minute supplies. It is also conveniently located to great wineries on the other larger Finger Lakes, beautiful hiking spots, great shopping and restaurants. I would highly recommend for a nice relaxing retreat to anyone!

Beautiful spot

This was a beautiful place to stay on the lake. The owner was most helpful as we were Parents of our Children's Wedding which took place at Emerson Park. We have some awesome photo's with the lake in the background and surrounding home grounds. The service was excellent and even had complimentary items for us on arrival which was so sweet! The home was well accommodating, clean, well maintained, and had all the amenities like home. The home was awesome for friends and family to gather. We especially enjoyed the deck and enclosed porch overlooking the lake. We used the Kayak and had some of our own which was awesome too. Beautiful spot and would recommend for anyone to stay there.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Highly Recommend

We rented the Lake House 5 times now and think it is fantastic! The swimming is wonderful, the sunsets beautiful, and the fish are always biting.

We have a young family – ages now 10, 9 and 5 – and our visit to the Lake House and Owasco Lake is THE highlight of our summer. Spending together in the water, around the camp fire and exploring the Finger Lakes are memories that we will always cherish. Although, the bottom of the lake is rocky (a fact of life in the Finger Lakes – so bring your water shoes) – the shore is gradual and shallow, so even our youngest could safely play in the water.

The house is wonderful – with plenty of room for us and our occasional guests to sleep. The kitchen (with outdoor grill) and dining room provide plenty of space for cooking and eating. Many evenings were spent on the deck and porches recounting the days’ events after the little ones were off to sleep. During the day when we weren’t in the water or on the spacious dock the kids had a large yard – with swing set – to play in.

The owners are very accommodating – from the welcome basket full of goodies, to anything that needs their attention to during our stay. We look forward to visiting again and highly recommend this lake house to anyone thinking about visiting the Finger Lakes.
