Mamaw's House in Oak Hill

In the early 1900's, Minden was a booming mining town.  Every mining town had a Company Store where all the men who worked for the mine went to buy all necessities for their families using Scrip, coins imprinted with the company's name, with which the workers were paid.   This house is where the Store Manager and his family resided.  After the mining boom went bust, the house was sold.  A couple of sales later, my grandparents were the proud owners.  This house has been in our family since 1968.  This is my tribute to my grandmother, whom we all fondly called "Mamaw."  Mamaw's door was always open and that's the way it will stay.  This is your perfect chance to get away from home and still feel "at home."
