The restoration of an old Tuscan farmhouse called "LE MANZINAIE", built in 1878, has resulted in four charming, self-catering apartments/suites and a nice villa with private garden, all provided with independent entrances.
They're situated in Tuscany -- in the center of Italy, in the community of Montepulciano, in the province of Siena - just halfway between Florence and Rome.

A long, cypress-lined drive leading to the farm sets the tone of its country elegance.
The accommodations (for 2 and 4 people), all provided with independent entrances, are completely hand-decorated, and are embellished by trompe l'oeil to offer the guests a refined, cosy, and exclusive atmosphere.

All apartments/suites are on ground floor and they have large bedroom with ceiling fan, bathroom with Jacuzzi Hydro massage tub, shower-bath and hairdryer, fully equipped kitchen and dining/living room with ceiling fan and sofa.
Satellite TV, Wireless internet connection, safe and independent heating. All windows have mosquito screens.

The villa is on two floors. On the ground floor there are: a fully equipped large kitchen with microwave oven and accessories, fridge, American Style coffee machine and toaster. One double bedroom with queen bed (or twin beds upon request); one bathroom with "Jacuzzi" Hydro massage tub and hairdryer.
On the first floor there are: one double bedroom with canopy bed and one bathroom with Hydro massage shower and hair dryer. Satellite TV, safe, Wireless Internet connection, air conditioning, independent heating system and private garden.

Le Manzinaie also offers a parking area, an open pool equipped with sun beds and sun umbrellas, large garden, barbecue and gazebo.

This is a friendly, small-family vacation rental where we speak Italian, English, and French.

We can provide all the guests with an itinerary for visit the best villages and towns rich of culture and art: Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Cortona, Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Trasimeno Lake, Florence* and Rome* etc. * To visit Florence or Rome besides by car, is possible reach this towns by train far from us about 19 Km.

All around there are wonderful hill and medieval villages to explore, in fact Le Manzinaie is a wonderful base for exploring Southern Tuscany and Umbria and their rich cultural heritage. Within easy reach you will find ancient abbeys, churches and medieval hill towns such as:

- Montepulciano that is a lovely village known as -The pearl of the 16th century- because of its several architectural features dating back to renaissance time, and for its wine -Nobile di Montepulciano- that is famous all over the world,

- Pienza, was the residence of Pope PIO II, is now adopted home of the famous for its Pecorino Cheese,

- Montalcino, famous for Brunello Red Wine,

- Cortona, where is possible to find many precious pieces of antiquarian art and beautiful local craftsmanship, famous also for the books and the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun", and there are free Classical, Jazz and other musical events in the summer as well as a number of pageants dating to Mediaeval times.

- Bagno Vignoni, medieval village, a spa town with a very particular town square, actually a huge bath of hot spring water that arrive at 52 degree Celsius,

- and other town like: Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Trasimeno Lake, Florence and Rome.

Our Season starts from Easter to beginning of November.

Prices change depending from the season (Low - Mid - High), how long is the rental period and how many people there are in your party as we have different size accommodations.

The accommodations, in Mid and High Season, are available on weekly basis -- Saturday to Saturday. We can be more flexible in Low Season, minimum 3 nights and in Mid Season, minimum 5 nights in the week.)

a beautiful Tuscan villa with superb hospitality

as you approach the electronic gates to the entrance of Le Manzinaie you know that you are entering somewhere very special. ahead of you lies a drive lined with cypress trees and at the end of the drive stands the typical beautiful Tuscan villa.

well kept gardens and swimming pool and patio arears. Very well equipped apartment with well stocked fridge and bottle of wine.

romantic bedroom and superb batchroom with double washbasins.

The host family were so welcoming and provided us with a wonderful information pack on visiting towns and cities and local information.

The family taught us how to make pasta from scratch and invited all the 10 guests staying in the villas to a wonderful tuscan meal one evening. There were 4 English 2 Irish and 4 American guests.

Fiore, Marzia and Alice were the best hosts ever. Especially Alice who speaks excellent English and does a fantastic job of running Le Manzinaie. We hope to visit again next year.

Le Manzinaie – Your First and Last Destination

We booked our week for Podre le Manzinaie about nine months prior to our visit during the last week of October 2009. It was obvious from reviews on tripadvisor and their guestbook that accommodations for the 2009 travel season would go fast. Without hesitation the Podre le Manzinaie was definitely our first choice for our return to Italy
after some thirty years and the final week of our Tuscan vacation.
We never believed that we would be disappointed in our choice. However, the Podre le Manzinaie, exceeded even our high expectations. The property and grounds are absolutely stunning. Our two bedroom apartment, the Girasole, had high vaulted ceilings, completely outfitted kitchen, separate baths for each bedroom, and food for the next day. Having the few grocery items available, also mentioned by other guests, is a remarkable and very thoughtful gesture. It says volumes about the attention to detail by the owners, Marzia and Fiori.
We were completely overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality of Marzia, Fiori, and their lovely daughter, Alice. They could not have been more gracious and kind. We, like everyone else, thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with the family and other guests. Making homemade pasta, pastries, drinking wine, and singing songs to the family dog, Rufus.
If you are considering a visit to Tuscany, I would highly recommend the Podre le Manzinaie. I can promise that you will have a memorable week and leave feeling you have a gained new Italian family.

A little bit of home in Tuscany

Last year we spent some time with friends in Tuscany, after leaving them we felt we needed a few days of ultimate relaxaction. Where could we go? The answer was very easy, Le Manzinaie. We had some two weeks there some time ago with two of our children and remembered it with fond memories. It was with much pleasure then that we arrived and the electric gates opened.

The Hosts, Marzia, Fiore and Alice welcomed us like long lost family members. We have never met such friendly people. We had arrived on Saturday afternoon without having spied an open shop to buy provisions but needn't have worried, the fridge and cupboards were full of all essentials and more. In addition, Fiore insists that his vegetable garden should be plundered when required - and he grows the most delicious tomatoes!

Last time we stayed in Viole, but this time we stayed in an apartment. Each beautiful and individually decorated and extremely comfortable. The gardens are well kept and guests can choose to eat inside or outside. The pool is large and there are plenty of loungers and we remember with pleasure Fiore bringing us some of his wonderful cappuccino or fruit juice.

One of our fondest memories from our earlier trips was the evening when all the guests are invited to eat together. Marzia cooks her wonderful Tuscan food and we are given copious amounts of wonderful local wine and licquors. Most of the time the guests, from all over the world, discuss what a wonderful place we have all found. We had a surprise this time though, a cookery lesson is now an additional attraction. We joined with another two families and each had a representative making pasta and tart - both of which we ate next day. My husband was so pleased with the taste of his own pasta that a pasta maker was the first item on his Christmas list this year.

The location of Le Manzinaie is ideal for touring around and Alice, in particular, has produced wonderful visitor guides. Siena, Florence, Rome, Montepulciano, Assisi are just a view of the very easily reached sights we have explored. However, on this second visit, we were just happy to relax by the pool.

We hope that others will enjoy the pleasure of staying at Le manzinaie and I know that we are not alone in having returned.
