This ground floor unit was just completely remodeled in 2006 with all the luxury finishes you would expect in the nicest homes. Located in the Village of Breckenridge Complex in the Chateux Building, renters have full access to all the amenities in the village including covered parking, indoor/outdoor year around pool, 4 hot tubs, full workout room, sauna, steam room, hi-speed wireless broadband and a Playstation 3 console in the unit. There is a Ipod/Iphone stereo in the family room. with flat screen LED high definition TV's in every room.The unit is a very short walk to Maggies Pond for ice skating in the winter and paddle boating and catch and release fishing in the summer. The Blue River is a block away for some of the best fly fishing in the country. This unit has it all!!

Great condo as described

Everything was as described and seen in the pictures. It is extremely nice to 3 master rooms each with a bathroom. Just a very short walk to the lift and town. We arrived early and the renter returned my call promptly and made arrangements for us to pick up the keys for early check in. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you

Not ski in/out

Unless you can jump a creek, ski uphill and ski through a fenced off ski school area, this is not ski in or out. While it is a short walk to the lift, it becomes tremendously long at the end of the day with two young children. I have no problem paying higher rates for ski in/out, but this property is not.

The condo was nicely decorated and the humidifiers were a great plus. The kitchen was well equipped. Beds and linens were good quality. The short outdoor walk to the pool/hot tubs was known in advance and acceptable. Very close walking distance to ski rental shops and town. If you have a car, the building's parking garage is difficult to park a big SUV in. I'm sure it was built before Suburbans.

Be sure you receive check-in instructions. Unfortunately, I never received an email or written notice about where and how to check-in (it is not at the front desk). I recieved emails from the owner and ivaction, but none had check-in instructions. If the instructions are from another address, it would be helpful to notify renters of that address so it can be added to safe sender lists. This caused a lot of stress and cost us extra money to accommodate the two young children.

If you expect a short walk to and from the lifts, this condo is a nice place. The description and perhaps the rates need to be more in line with a walking location though.

Recommended for: families with teenagers, tourists without a car

Had a great time skiing over Easter Break - 2012 (5 nights)

We skied over Easter break and had a great time. Our party consisted of 1 couple with 3 kids (ages 5, 9, and 10) and another couple with 1 kid (age 11). The location of the condo is excellent. You walk out the front of the condo and it is just a short walk to the Maggie Quicksilver lift, and ski school. The condo is well-furnished and spacious. The bedrooms were plenty big, and everyone appreciated having attached bathrooms. Each couple got a room and we let the girls take their own room too. The boys used the rollaway bed. We opted not to use the sleeper sofa in the family room as it was nice for the adults to stay up and enjoy some time together after the kids went to bed.

One very nice touch was having the humidifiers availble to use in each room. We have spent a one-week ski vacation without them, and I can tell you the dry air makes sleeping uncomfortable and takes its toll on on you.

The location is 2 blocks off of Main St, so we did not need the car. We opted to save some cash and park at the ice skating rink ($5/night instead of $15/night in the underground parking). The only thing to keep in mind is that the pay station in the lot was frequently out-of-service, so we had to drive to the police station and purchase a permit. The walk is a little longer than I thought; I checked it and its a 1/2 mile, but we saved $10/day for the week.

The entryway to the condo was also well thought out. Lots of space for boots, shoes, coats, helmets etc. The ski locker in the hallway is in-use by the owner, so we took our skis and poles and laid them down on the outdoor patio (there is a little half wall, so no one could see them); that worked nicely.

We normally like to have a washer and dryer in the unit. For this condo, you had to go one floor up, but as long as we had our quarters with us, it was perfectly fine.

Lastly, the owner, John, was easy to deal with and accessible for any questions. If I had a question, I simply emailed him and he got right back to me right away with the answer. (Thanks John! We had a great trip and will contact you for our next trip to Breckenridge.)

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
