Built in the 1880s when Truckee was a Wild West railroad town, the home was situated on a hill above town by a wealthy business man. Today, the home remains the centerpiece of Truckee as it overlooks the historic downtown and the Truckee River. Trains still pass through this once bustling railroad town, stirring echoes of a time that are sure to excite the imagination.

The house is furnished throughout in antiques, with high ceilings and original woodwork.  A south facing living room with picture window brings in sun throughout the day.  A formal dining room is off the gourmet kitchen - complete with 2 ovens for cooking large meals.  A rumpus room with bean bags, flat screen and dvd player awaits the little ones.  There is a wet bar off the rumpus room with microwave and bar sink. 

All the bedrooms have feather bedding and are decorated in Victorian style - one has a beautiful bay window with a love seat, perfect for relaxing with a book. Four of the six rooms have private baths - two with claw foot tubs.  One bathroom is handicap accessible with a roll- in shower.

Step out into the yard and enjoy a summer dinner outside in the gazebo.  A white picket fence surrounds our grass and stone patio.  The neighborhood is family friendly, with people walking pets and kids playing -  you will feel right at home. Guests receive an exclusive experience card with special offers at local restaurants and shops.
