Arrived really late the first night but contacted the Realtor along the way she was very understanding and texted the codes for access and said come in and take care of everything in the morning(made a long trip so much easier). Second day up late went to town to get groceries and look the town over get my bearings since I had never stayed in Rockport before but lived in CC. got with the Realtor and took care of business and thanked her for the little care package! and got a few hints on where to find a few special things(fresh shrimp, good seafood, fresh produce, and hot fishing spots) Tuesday was shopping resting and a BBQ on the gas grill on the deck. Wednesday was a very early day a 6am all day fishing trip with redfish runner who put us on some great Black Drum since the Reds weren't biting. Thuresday was another rest day out to the beach try and even out a bad tan and more shopping. Friday was more relaxing down at the pool then later out to the pier then BBQ'd ribs off the grill. Saturday out to the beach, shopping at the surf shops and dinner at Frank's spaghetti house then a little fishing at Copano pier caught a 41 inch black drum and a bunch of trout, fishing on a 3/8 silver spoon and lost track of time. Sunday not wanting to go home already making plans to be back next year. Only con we had was we love to get disconnected but after I broke my phone we were almost completely disconnected Verizon has 1x here and sprint is 3g spotty at times but really missed my internet but there are lots of free WiFi in Rockport at coffee shops, doughnut shops( Recommend Rockport Doughnut)

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Quiet and Relaxing

Holiday Beach is a small neighborhood across the causeway from the Rockport-Fulton area, with a fishing pier and a small community pool, very easy to find, very quiet area. The cottage is lovely, weathered cedar with a huge deck with a large gas grill. The inside is lovely, with a very "beachy" decor. The furniture in the living room was very comfy, upholstered in denim! The kitchen was extremely well equipped, with a big fridge with a working ice maker, nice to have in 105 degree weather. The bathroom has a nice standup shower. The beds were comfy, and again, the decor was lovely. NOT for late sleepers, the sun came in bright and early. There were plenty of towels for the bath, plenty of dishes in the kitchen. Some nice touches were brochures handy with info about the area, local phone books, board games and books to read! The cottage was very very clean, the owner quite pleasant, and Rockport-Fulton is a lovely place to visit. Check out the Rockport Beach Park, nice place! The local HEB grocery store is VERY nice. And you can never go wrong with Dairy Queen or Sonic for an ice cream treat. We ate at JD's Cove Harbor Cafe, small place, good seafood. The shopping in Rockport was cool, walkable main street type of shops.
Not for folks without a car, or for anyone who can't climb stairs, the house is on pilings up a flight of stairs. Pack or pick up some "OFF" spray, the skeeters were kind of fierce in the early evening, just an FYI!

Recommended for: age 55+, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway
