vacation rental description

Our condo on the Big Island of Hawaii is located 5 miles south of the Kailua-Kona village, in a resort community called Keauhou.  The complex is the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club.  Our condo is on the top floor (3rd) and is a corner unit with wraparound window walls to the west and north.   From inside or from the tiled lanai, there is a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the coast, along with spectacular sunsets.  This condo is oceanfront  with the shoreline a mere 30 feet way.  Viewing humpback whales from the lanai is a frequent occurrence during the whale migration season.  Throughout the year, you can always catch a view of dolphins playing just off the shoreline.

The condo is a comfortable 1200 sq. ft. with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.  The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and the 2nd bedroom has twin beds that can be pushed together to make one large bed.  The living room boasts a large comfortable couch that allows for views to the ocean and/or the television.  The entertainment center consists of a cable-connected 40 inch flat panel television, DVD, VCR and CD AM/FM radio.  Free broadband Internet access is available in either wireless or direct connect cabling mode.

Incredible!

Everything about this condo is incredible. It is spacious, very clean, great location and most of all the view is spectacular. We used the tennis courts and pool daily and my kids enjoyed their first snorkle experience at Kahalu'u Bay just minutes away. The owners have been extremely helpful and we very much hope to return one day! MAHALO Tom and Glenda!

A perfect place to rest and renew

If you are looking for a noisy, crowded, traffic congested, place to party, the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racket Club is not for you! This is the perfect place to take in the crashing waves of the ocean with possibly the best ocean front view in the area. Situated just a short drive outside of the downtown Kona tourist area, it is a private corner unit on the top floor. The unit was very clean and spacious and uncluttered giving it a peaceful feeling. There is an amazing view from every room. Access to the downtown shopping area is just a short drive and there are public beaches that you can easily walk to for swimming or snorkeling. The owner gave us valuable info on the area that was very helpful and was extremely professional in his rental process. We would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed this rental property very much. Location, awesome, with gorgeous views and sounds of the ocean and breezes to keep the condo very comfortable. It's also very clean and the owners are very accomodating if any problem should arise while you're staying there. Bathrooms have been remodeled and are very nice compared to other units we have stayed in. Everything we needed for our 2 weeks on the island were there except for our own personal groceries, etc.
We would recommend this property to those looking for a relaxing oceanfront vacation spot where you can cook, if you want, or go out to eat at numerous restaurants within 10 minutes drive or so. Also, restaurants you can walk to at a close by shopping mall area, so wouldn't even have to drive if you didn't want to, but we advise renting a car and taking some of your days to tour around the island, too. Much sightseeing and beauty to behold on Hawaii and if you have the time you should take some of it in, like Waipilo Valley, Hapuna Beach north of Waikoloa, and the Botanical Gardens which lay along the ocean north of Hilo on the other side of the island. Saw beautiful waterfalls at Akaka Falls this time due to the rains and several rainbows, too! Awesome!
We also spotted sightings of whales and spinner dolphins this year, too. My husband and son swam with sea turtles and spinner dolphins down at Two Step (what the natives call it) by the City of Refuge.
What an experience for them! They also saw lots of colorful fish in the close by beach park within walking distance of this condo at Kahalua Beach Park. (Sits by what use to be the Outrigger Hotel, but is changing hands and closed at this time - not sure what it will be called next!)
Restaurant recommendations: Kona Inn-for excellent fish dishes and beautiful ocean view (more spendy but worth it); Bongo Ben's on Alii Drive for great breakfasts; Kona Brewpub for great pizza and beers; Hawaiian Barbeque up at the mall by condo-cheap, good rice/meat bowls and always busy. The Sheraton Hotel has an excellent ocean front restaurant with a more contemporary Hawaiian style
atmosphere which is very close to this condo for a different island flare.
Also, just grilling right at the condo area and eating on your oceanfront lanai can't be beat when over there! And, the grocery store up at the mall has a wonderful bakery selection for rolls, breads, etc.
Hope you enjoy this condo as much as we did and have a great time on the Big Island!
