Besides nearby golf courses, Galena Territories has tennis courts, walking trails a lake (marina for pontoon boats and fishing that can be rented), cross country skiing and riding stables. There is also use of the outdoor pool, and owners club (includes indoor fitness center, gym, game room, TV room and social rooms).  There is also a 24 hour security force.

Downhill skiing is a short drive to Chestnut Mountain. Sundown ski area is only 30 minutes away.

The town of Galena is a short drive from Galena Territory with numerous specialty shops, art galleries and restaurants from gourmet, to Pizza to sandwich palces to ethnic.  Dubuque is about a 30 minute drive from Galena Territory. To drive to Chicago is 2.5 to 3 hour drive, Rockford is 1 hour drive.
