Lakefront House on Private All Sports Lake in Ann Arbor

Come spend a week at our Lakefront home on Horseshoe Lake.  Horseshoe Lake is a private all sports lake, which offers excellent waterskiing, jet skiing, fishing, swimming and ice fishing during the winter.  With gas prices being as high as they are, why waste the money and time in the car.  Come enjoy a barbeque or a bonfire on the water with your family and friends at this beautiful hidden gem just 10 miles north of downtown Ann Arbor. 

The main floor has an open floor plan, which can easily accomodate large groups.  The kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances and a wood burning stove.  We also have a large five burner propane grill outside that makes cooking for large groups a breeze.  The house has centralized air conditioning and heating, which should keep you and your guests comfortable during your stay.

There are three bedrooms on the second floor including a master bedroom with a fireplace and a connected bathroom.  Each of the bedrooms have queen bed.  The third floor is an expansive loft area with two bunk beds that have full and twin sized beds.  There is also a queen sized bed and a futon located in this room which would be perfect for the kids, or an entire family. 

There is a game room above the garage, which includes a pool table, 10 foot shuffleboard table and a 50" plasma television, blu-ray player with surround sound that everyone will enjoy.  We also have a Nintendo Wii with eleven games for our guests to enjoy during their stay.  This room is sure to entertain all ages.

Outside we have a large deck area overlooking the lake and a large grassy area along the water where you and your guests can enjoy your time together by playing a variety of yard games, having a bonfire on the water or swimming off of our beach or dock.

We have a large driveway that can fit up to six mid-sized cars that can be used for parking during your stay.  We also have a fenced-in front yard where your dogs can play. Only well behaved dogs and declawed cats are welcome.

Unfortunately, we no longer host weddings, graduation parties or other large gatherings. Also, please note that this is a large house in a wooded area that can accumulate dust and cob-webs between cleanings.  Therefore, if cleanliness is a major priority for you or your guests, we courteously ask you to consider alternative housing arrangements.

The Links of Whitmore Lake is an 18 hole golf course, which is less than a mile away.  There are several great restaurants within five miles.  The private launch is just down the road, so bring your boat or jet ski and enjoy hours of fun on this private lake. 

Horseshoe Lake offers some of the best fishing around.  We've seen several lunkers caught and released this summer including a few from our shoreline.  (See the review below that one of our guests left). The lake also contains Northern Pike and several types of panfish.  Feel free to use our canoe and/or fishing equipment during your stay.  Plus, our neighbor has a full sand volleyball court that can be used at anytime.  We'll even provide the ball if you forget yours.

We also cater to all those football fans out there that are attending games at the Big House during the fall / winter months.  Driving to the stadium couldn't be easier as you simply cruise down Whitmore lake road into downtown Ann Arbor and avoid the large traffic back-ups on M-23.

Our rates are as follows:

January - May - $275 a night with a three night minimum.

June - August - $300 a night with a five night minimum.  

September (after Labor Day) - December - $275 a night with a two night minimum.

U of M Football Games & Other Big House Events - We live less than 10 miles from the Big House and getting there couldn't be easier on Whitmore Lake road, which will help you avoid the traffic on US-23.  Contact us for more information and rates about the various events.

Weeks of Christmas and New Years - $275 a night with a three night minimum.

A cleaning fee of $80 will be added to each reservation and a property damage protection fee of $49 is applicable on all reservations.  Groups of 10 people or more will be charged $130 for cleaning and will be required to purchase a property damage protection plan of $59.  

Please note that we cannot guarantee your reservation until we receive a signed lease agreement and a reservation deposit.  Reservations will be granted on a first come first serve basis so be sure to act fast and book early.

Also, please note that we are required collect and remit a 6% Use tax to the state of Michigan on all short-term rentals described above.
