The Charlotte County Harbor park is only a 5-10 minute drive with a small beach opening onto the Harbor and another boat ramp as well as kayak rentals.

The South West Gulf Coast of Florida is renowned for its calm waters, white sugar sanded beaches and relaxed and laid back lifestyle. The area boasts nature trails, water sports, boating and sailing, golf, shopping and much much more. All easily accessible within a short drive of the villa.

A particular attraction for boat owners in South Gulf Cove is that there is easy access to the Community Boat ramp which allows public access for boat owners to the Gulf through the many canals that weave their way through South Gulf Cove.

The Port Charlotte, Northport & Punta Gorda area is a mecca for golfers with more than 20 courses nearby.

You can make easy day trips around the many islands & keys that dot the coastline. You may want to head to the Cabbage Key Inn for an outdoor lunch or to Cayo Costa for an afternoon of shelling or picnicing on the beautiful white beaches. Both islands are only accessible via boat and are quite a treat.

There are many boat hire firms catering for the experienced & the novice alike. And no visit to the Gulf Coast is complete without a trip around the islands.

Peaceful, Comfortable, Private, Trouble free

Review submitted: February 8, 2013   Date of arrival: January 1, 2013

This place exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean, well maintained and everything worked. We stayed there the entire month. On one side of the home is another home with a very nice neighbor. On the other side is an undeveloped lot which is nothing but woods. It acts like a barrier from the rest of the neighborhood. The pool and lanai overlook the canal. On the other side of the canal is again woods, not other houses. It was so very nice to spend the day doing all the things this area has to offer, then come back to the peace and quiet this place has to offer. Just hanging out around the spacious pool and lanai was fun. The places we enjoyed the most were Sanibel Island and Fort Meyers Beach. They're about 90 minutes away and well worth the drive.
We hope we can do this again sometime.

We are from Minnesota and would recommend this place to anyone.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thank you for the thoughtful review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit.

Peaceful haven

Review submitted: August 21, 2011   Date of arrival: July 25, 2011

The pictures and details of this property don't do it justice. My family of 3 have just returned from a holiday here and we had such a fabulous, relaxing time. The property is spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained, containing everything your family needs and more. We wanted a quiet break, away from Orlando, etc. However, the beaches and wildlife of the area are stunning. You can easily get to attractions such as Busch Gardens and there are many galleries and museums around Sarasota and Fort Myers which are worth a visit. However, we were happy to soak up the sun round the pool and watch the fish jumping and the birds flying! So peaceful! But still enough local amenities to keep the family amused, good variety of local bars and shops and a great cinema just round the corner. I am a big fan of Steak 'n' Shake, so I was happy! There are restaurants to suit every budget...Portofinos was excellent. I walked around the area most mornings and felt very safe, I also walked over the Peace River Bridge and back several times, cycling was also easy to do, a nice safe area all round. The owners are really friendly and will answer any questions quickly and honestly. They obviously love this place, and it shows. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting peace and quiet, maybe a relaxing week after the Disney madness, or just to explore the Gulf Coast by boat, or to fish. It's perfect.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, sight seeing, romantic getaway
