apartment rental amenities

This property is located in the Historic East Village.

The East Village was traditionally considered part of the Lower East Side (north of Houston St., South of 14th St., and East of Broadway) and developed its identity and culture in the late 60s as the home for artists, musicians, poets, students. The East Village is the center of counterculture in New York and is still known for its multi-national community, vibrant nightlife and artistic movements. This colorful neighborhood is full of good values and it remains an ethnically diverse area of students, young professionals, older longtime residents, Vacation Rentals, Boutique Hotels and Bed & Breakfast Inns.

Just blocks away is the fashionable Soho, Greenwich Village, Little Italy, and Chinatown. And just around the corner you will find a wide variety of restaurants, trendy shops, and sophisticated bars. We provide the ideal and strategic location to conduct business or enjoy the art galleries, theaters, museums, and the night life of East Village.

The 2nd Ave. Subway Station. From here you can be anywhere in Manhattan including Times Square, Central Park, Fifth Ave, Empire State and Chrysler Buildings, Brooklyn Bridge, Chelsea, Meat Packing, Fashion and Financial Districts and other attractions in less than 10mins.

activities and attractions in Manhattan New York City

Hi there,

My name is Mario. Allow me to tell you a little about myself and our projects. I'm originally from Peru but had the great fortune of growing up in South-East Asia (India, Nepal & SriLanka). I have since traveled far and wide; too many countries to name them all. I received my BFA in Dance Theater from the University of Florida which only increased the traveling for a few years. I now reside in New York City, co-manage SanctuaryNY, take a dance class whenever I can, and love meeting new fellow travelers (and I still travel a lot).

Some years ago, a group us (artists, entrepreneurs and world travelers) sat down to brainstorm. The idea was to find a way to provide travelers an alternative to the often impersonal and priced up accommodations found in New York; SanctuaryNYC was conceived and the rest is history.

Over the year we have hosted guests from all walks of life (musicians, business owners, families, dancers, actors, writers, honey-mooners, wedding parties, photographers, fashion designers, UN representatives, doctors, travel bloggers, yoga groups, chefs... etc).

We chose the East Village of Lower Manhattan because of its creative vibrancy and diversity along with its user–friendly travel connections to any part of the city. Whether you are flying from half-way around the world or driving just a few hours to New York City, each visit has the potential to bring new inspiration and valuable lessons into our lives. SanctuaryNYC facilitates this experience by offering an affordable, peaceful and stylish accommodation for the traveler in need of a calm, retreat-like experience.

SanctuaryNYC is also active in helping the local East Village/Lower East Side community. We fund 'Food for Life @ Tompkins', a local out-reach project that serves fresh FREE meals to our neighbors in need 3 times per week.

Our motto is "Do Good, Be Happy"

We look forward to hosting your visit to New York City!

Perfect accommodations for former New Yorkers!

Tammy (New Jersey)
Review submitted: January 20, 2013   Date of arrival: January 19, 2013

I had the pleasure of staying at Sanctuary Guest Suites last night for a reunion with my best girlfriends from childhood, 5 out of 6 of us being former NYC residents. This is unequivocally the place to stay for a REAL New York experience. I have always disliked staying at hotels in my former hometown. We all miss the feeling of living in the city and Sanctuary brought us right back into the fold. It was wonderful to catch up with old friends in an atmosphere that felt like home. We were able to spend time in our room, sit out on our patio, and took advantage of having a kitchen at our disposal. The icing on the cake was a surprise, last minute, visit from our friend from Ohio. She flew in and surprised us at dinner. It was late evening and I was able to contact the staff and have them set up an extra cot for her. They made it all so easy. What a fantastic reunion and wonderful stay at Sanctuary! With a combined 12 children between us, this group of ladies will be back for another girls getaway soon! Thanks so much Mario and Zach!

Great people, good location

I loved the staff! Mario was very helpful in booking and our questions we had before arrival. And Zac was just great, so helpful in everything we need help during our stay that made our stay just great.
Tha appartment is clean. Its Location is good in a safe neighborhood, very close to subway and so all the attraction points in Manhattan.
The only catch was the stairs as we stayed on 6th floor. But it still worked for me since I looked pretty fit while leaving NYC:)
