Vineyard Station Ranch Maison -  now accepting reservations for April of 2011

Vineyard Station Ranch

What better place to explore the wine country than from a well-appointed house nestled in the vineyards? At Vineyard Station Ranch, located just minutes from historic Sonoma Plaza, you have two to choose from: Vineyard Station Ranch Maison,  and Vineyard Station Ranch Chaumière (coming in June).  Reserve the house of your choice - or - reserve two  for a special gathering of friends, family, or business associates.

The Maison

Three bedrooms plus a bonus bunk room and convertible sofa make The Masion the ideal vacation home for small groups. Gather local gourmet ingredients and whip together a meal in the spacious, centrally located country kitchen. Ample tiled counter space, a versatile island, and casual dining table make the kitchen a gathering place for groups who love to cook. A vintage table in the spacious dining/family room seats 8.

During warmer months dine outdoors and take in the gorgeous sunsets over the surrounding mountaintops. Then slip into the hot tub for a soak under the stars.

Enjoy a game of croquet on the expansive lawn, which wraps around the redwood deck. Walk through the vineyards to Denmark Street, a country road, which connects to the streets of Sonoma. Borrow ranch bicycles to ride through the vineyards into town during dryer times of the year.

Curl up on comfy sofas around the family room fireplace and enjoy vineyard views over the deck and outdoor dining area. A separate front room, equipped with a desk, comfortable seating, flat screed television and DVD player provides space to watch movies - or quiet moments for catching up with the office - if you must.

Slip into 600 thread count linens beneath fluffy down comforters for a great night's sleep. Enjoy a fire from the jetted bathtub or luxurious king sized bed. Step outside the master bedroom to your own deck for coffee in the morning. Relax, reflect. You'll remember Sonoma as one of the most special places on earth.

The 2,300 square foot Vineyard Station Ranch Maison is the perfect choice of vineyard homes to celebrate a special occasion in the heart of the wine country for your party of up to ten.

History

Vineyard Station Ranch vacation homes celebrate the ranch's history as one of the region's first resorts. Know as "Vineyard Villa" the resort was established by the French Rouquies family in the late 1800's. Century old olive trees and an enormous cork oak planted by the Rouquies grace this land, where views of the Sonoma and Mayacamas mountain ranges over lush, mature vineyards are unobstructed. Sunrises and sunsets over the ranch are breathtaking.

An Ideal Location

If you seek immersion in the wine country, convenient proximity to restaurants, galleries, shops, parks, museums, entertainment, events and historic sites, The Ranch’s central location is ideal. Venture just minutes in any direction to discover a multitude of wineries and restaurants in Sonoma, Napa and The Carneros. Your group will have access to the ranch’s vineyard golf course au natural – golf among the vines and heritage trees - along with comfortable, stylish accommodations.

Vineyard Station Ranch is the perfect location for couples and small groups who desire lodging in the heart of the vineyards as they explore the region’s wine growing appellations and learn about the intricacies and nuances of winemaking. Privacy, with convenient access to the town of Sonoma, makes The Ranch a unique, one of a kind location for those who wish to create private retreats for extended weekends, vacations and memorable gatherings.

Ideal for elopements and intimate weddings, anniversary and birthday celebrations, family reunions, wine tasting excursions, girls’ getaways, and corporate incentive groups, the ranch is a wonderful place to honeymoon or simply take a respite to refresh and renew.

Unique Food and Wine Opportunities

Enjoy a  private escape or add spice to your stay with a unique event. Make arrangements for guided vineyard tours, blending parties, food and wine pairings, winemaker dinners, rehearsal dinners, and small business meetings in the renovated barn, adjacent to The Ranch’s spacious lawn, swimming pool, and pond. Outdoor spaces are also appealing for special gatherings.

Proprietor Art Fichtenberg of Fichtenberg Vineyards, can often make himself available for vineyard tours, food and wine pairings, winemaker dinners, and wine education seminars.

Vineyard designated varietals are grown at Vineyard Station Ranch in the Sonoma Coast Appellation, a specific slice of land which is warmer that the Carneros and cooler than Sonoma Valley. Nineteen of the ranch’s 26 acres are planted in Merlot, Malbec and Chardonnay, grapes perfectly suited to the climate and soil. These high quality grapes are shepherded to produce limited edition wines in small handcrafted lots, all of which are consistent medal winners.

Enjoy temporary wine club membership and discounts at the Fichtenberg Tasting Room, located at The Mercato on Sonoma Plaza. Join the wine club and you will be entitled to future lodging discounts at Vineyard Station Ranch.

traveler reviews for this sonoma house rental

The perfect vacation rental

g10019 (New York, NY)
Review submitted: June 11, 2011   Date of arrival: June 5, 2011

I'm not quite sure where to begin... when our group first saw the pictures of the property, we thought to ourselves, "yeah, right, no way this place looks this nice." As it turns out, Vineyard Station Ranch exceeded our expectations by a wide margin, and the pictures don't do it justice.

When we arrived, the house was spotless, and felt very warm and inviting, and the layout is perfect for entertaining. The bedding was hotel qulity, and exceptionally comfortable. One of the best features is the deck, which allowed us to enjoy each others company in addition to the stunning views. The house was so comfortable, that one day we decided to do an at home tasting of different wines purchased, and we never stepped foot outside.

In terms of location, it was PERFECT. Very close to the center of town for groceries and restaurants, and ease of access to highways allowing us to head to Napa very quickly and easily.

Also, the property manager was very responsive to my calls and emails, and fully answered all of our questions. We were heartbroken to leave today, and are already planning on making a trip back... We would HIGHLY recommend.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thank you for the beautiful review!

Planning The Maison at Vineyard Station Ranch was a true pleasure and selecting the eclectic furnishings, a blend of mid century, modern. and vintage furnishings was a satisfying and successful creative endeavort. Since opening in March we have hosted groups from a number of states and have been delighted with the response to the house, its decor, the gorgeous vineyard setting, and the terrific location. We have also had a great response to the Fichtenberg wines we offer guests. The grapes are grown right outside The Maison's doors. This a wine country experience in the truest sense of the word! We look forward to hosting many happy guests from around the world and will be able to accommodate up to 16 with the upcoming opening of The Chaumiére, our charming Vineyard Station Ranch cottage, nestled in the vineyards near The Maison.
