vacation rental description
The perfect family vacation destination or weekend getaway with friends, our mountain home is ideally situated on almost 2 acres of gently sloping land on azure Lake Glenville (Thrope) near the resort villages of Cashiers and Highlands. Surrounded by mountains, Lake Glenville's 26-mile shoreline meanders past Christmas tree farms, pastures, forests, waterfalls and a world-class golf course. Warm days and cool nights are almost assured at this high-elevation mountain lake. The Lake House's 200+ feet of shoreline, provide ample space to enjoy swimming, use of our private boat dock (equipped with canoe, sailboat and kayaks) or relaxing on the sunning ledge overlooking the lake.
The use of native materials and local craftsmanship throughout the 4,700 sq. ft. structure make it feel like a luxury lodge. Features include spectacular lake views, wrap-around porches, generous sitting and dining areas, quiet reading nooks, massive stone fireplaces, antique heart-pine floors and a soaring, beamed ceiling in main salon. Furnishings are a comfortable blend of antiques, rustic and overstuffed pieces. Modern conveniences include a fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, king size beds, oversized tubs with marble surrounds, a fully equipped laundry room, satellite TV and DVD, CD player, DVD library and wireless Internet access.
