snowmobile weekend

Review submitted: February 16, 2010   Date of arrival: February 5, 2010

Very nice cabin right in the heart of alexandria but you feel like your out in the woods. Well maintained and clean with 5 bedrooms and 2 baths, if you are going sledding it is right off the trail. Owner was very accommodating to early check-in and everything was ready when we arrived.
I would recommend this place for anyone.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway

Family vacation

Review submitted: August 14, 2011   Date of arrival: July 31, 2011

We stayed here with 11 people for a family vacation for 1 week, and there was plenty of room for the 11 of us. The website was very deceiving when compared to the actual cabin. Just information for people that are renting, always ask what "air conditioning" means, if it's important to you. We had a one window air conditioning unit that did not work at all and it was a very hot, muggy week when we were there. We had to go to Walmart to buy 4 box fans just to get through the nights. Not to mention, if you ran the air conditioner and the microwave at the same time, you would blow a breaker...annoying! On the internet, it said it had an ice maker...well, it didn't even have ice cube trays, not to mention the frig quit working for a day and the boys had to fix it, but we probably bought over 200 lbs of ice for our coolers. Toilet paper and paper towles were locked in the garage and we had to call the owner to figure that out and by that time we had bought all of our own toiletries. Again, very very happy Walmart was only 5 minutes away! It was not very clean, carpets were dirty, bug nests all over the outside of the house and bugs all over the inside, drawers were extremely dirty, mold growing on the outside patio furniture, beds were very uncomfortable and not a vacation for little ones that crawl around!!....thankfully ours weren't that little!! But...on the upside, we had a nice dock for our boat(however the boat lift didn't work) and we had a great family vacation and made the best of the situation

Owners response: We are disapointed to hear that this group's stay did not meet their standards. Our goal is to give each of the families a great experience, a relaxing vacation and wonderful memories. Each fall and spring we thoroughly inspect our property to ensure we can provide quality experience for our guests. We have done renovations and updates to the property each year and will continue to do so. Certainly this feedback will be taken into consideration as we make plans for our future guests. Each year we are booked with returning families that have created multiple years of memories. We will continue to ensure we offer a great experience and make the improvements to our property to ensure we can meet everyone's needs. If any returning or furture guests have any questions about this review, we would be more than willing to show our comittment to giving your family a great stay!
