vacation rental description
Our lake house is an architect-designed wood cabin built in 2008. It is full of light and natural materials. It is not a “party house”, but a warm mix of sophistication and informality. Our family and friends have spent many hours together here cooking, playing board games, sitting by the woodstove, reading on the covered deck with a little lake view, napping in the hammocks in the small stand of trees next to the house, stargazing by the fire pit in the front yard and playing volleyball, crochet and bocci ball in the backyard.
The kitchen, with its sunny eating nook and island, is fully equipped and opens to the living room which has a woodstove. The master bedroom and bathroom is downstairs and has its own deck with morning sun and an outdoor shower. Also downstairs is a half bath and laundry room with washer and dryer. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms, one with a full bed and one with a twin, a bathroom, a day bed, and the loft which has a double futon as well as TV/VCR/DVD and a selection of movies. There is no cable or internet.
We have decided to rent our house because we have become busy with our high schooler’s activities and have not been able to use it as much as we feel it should be. It is a special home to enjoy. We hope you will consider it as your home away from home.
The rental includes our cabin guest house which is 400 square feet and has a queen bed, completely functional and stocked kitenette, bathroom, sleeping loft, fire bowl, propane BBQ--can house 2 adults and 3-4 kids in addition to the big cabin.
Marina membership is included in the rental.

activities and attractions in Mayfield Lake Washington
Mayfield Lake is an easy drive from Portland or Seattle and it is a great base for exploring Mt. Ranier, Mt. St. Helens, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, all of which are within a 1 hour drive. The area abounds in hikes with breathtaking views. In the winter White Pass Ski Resort, a great, family-friendly resort with terrific Intermediate runs, is an easy 70-mile drive east. The lake itself is perfect for waterskiing, fishing and canoeing or kayaking. The marina has protected docks if you bring your own boat and use our membership which is included in the rental of the Kinglet, or you can rent boats at the marina. The marina has a convenience store and a restaurant open on summer weekends, and in the summer the Saturday Night Dance is fun for the whole family.
