vacation rental description
For your convenience and peace-of-mind, we now accept VISA and Mastercard!
You won't want to leave this BRAND NEW, fully-renovated beach cottage! Immaculate, fresh, clean, and uncluttered; fully renovated in 2010! Just 2/10 of a mile to the beach in Vilano Beach, St. Augustine.
Located on a quiet, low-traffic street, this beach house comfortably accomodates eight, with four bedrooms and two full baths. You will wake up refreshed and invigorated after sleeping on any one of the super-comfy memory foam mattresses.
O'Cottage by the Sea is the ideal place to marry a beach vacation with sight-seeing, relaxing, fine dining, and world-class golf!
Our home is just one block to the sand (with no busy road to cross), a 5-minute-drive to historic St. Augustine, the oldest city in America, and a 25-minute-drive along traffic-free, scenic A1A to Ponte Vedra Beach, home of the Players' Club Championship (TPC) and AAA five diamond rated Ponte Vedra Inn and Club (think spa, ladies, and golf, gentlemen).
You can also walk to the Vilano Fishing Pier, where you can rent a boat at Bay Ray Boat Rentals or pick up a pizza or Chinese in the Town Center.
There is a convenience store within walking distance, too! A brand-new, full-service Publix grocery store is two blocks from the house--even closer than the convenience store!
We are a smoke-free and pet-free home.

house rental amenities
Our two-story beach house has four bedrooms, two full baths, and two living areas (the family room is downstairs; the living room is upstairs). Enjoy morning coffee (or evening margaritas - yum!) listening to ocean waves and feeling ocean breezes on the big front deck.
Each floor has a living area (equipped with a flat-screen TV and blu-ray player), a queen-sized bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds, and a full bath; this set-up is perfect for two families sharing a vacation to have their own floor and have a little privacy at the end of a great day of sight-seeing, swimming, sunning, and relaxing! The kitchen is on the second floor and is open to the living room.
You'll want to be a kid again and sleep in the cozy bunk beds on the first floor (the bottom bunk is highly recommended for napping and reading) and lounge on the over-size memory foam beanbag chairs in front of the 60-inch TV.
There are hardwood floors throughout, except for the tiled baths and entryway. The fully-equipped kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The upstairs bath features a jetted tub and dual sinks. The home is equipped with a washer and dryer. There are ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms (except for the bunk room) and the common living areas.
Everything is new and clean in this non-smoking, pet-free home.
Cable TV, Wi-Fi, and unlimited local and long distance phone calls, too!
activities and attractions in St Augustine Atlantic Coast North
Vilano Beach is located at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and the St. Augustine Inlet. Drive your car on the beach ($3 per day collected Memorial Day - Labor Day) or walk on for free and watch shrimpers, pleasure craft, and dolphins on the water! Vilano Beach is a skim-boarder's paradise! Fish off the Vilano Beach pier or at the ocean's edge.
Tired of the beach? Drive (or walk!) over the Ursina Bridge into St. Augustine to enjoy favorite tourist attractions including, Ripley's Believe it or Not! Museum, the Fountain of Youth, and the Castillo de San Marcos; shopping and dining along St. George Street; tours on the Old Town Trolley. Walk through Flagler College's campus, where parts of "Animal House" were filmed. Rent a scooter and zip down the cobblestone streets and admire the architecture.
Drive a little further to visit the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and the St. Augustine Lighthouse (two of my favorites!). Have lunch or dinner at the nearby Conch House and sit in a "nest" overlooking the water (be sure to try the calamari with banana peppers) or, if you are patient, wait for a table at O'Steen's for a seafood dinner.
Hop in the car and enjoy a quick and easy drive on A1A along the coast to Ponte Vedra Beach, where you can shop and dine, or enjoy the spa and golf at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club or Sawgrass. If you need more golf, check out World Golf Village ("where golf is king"), about 15 miles away; you can also catch a 3-D IMAX movie and visit the World Golf Village Hall of Fame.
Not one, but TWO, outlet malls are a 20-minute drive from our beach house. You'll find the JCrew, GAP, Aeropostale, Tommy Bahama, Nike, Bose, and Coach stores (among others) at the Premium Outlets and Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, Lucky, Off 5th, Gucci, Cold Water Creek, BCBG at the Prime Outlets.
