The Bonner House in Durango

Newly remodeled mountain house at aprox. 8700' elevation situated on aprox. 9 acres of land located only one mile south of Durango Mountain Resort Ski Area (formerly Purgatory Ski Area) and 25 miles north of the town of Durango. Beautiful mountain views and privacy but with very fast and easy access to Hwy. 550 N.

The Bonner House is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath house with a full kitchen (all utensils, paper products included) and seperate living and dining areas. The master bedroom has a king bed. The secondary downstairs bedroom has a new queen bed and a queen size futon. The upstairs loft bedroom has 2 twin beds. All linens are supplied. The living area features a wood burning fireplace (wood included) and HD satellite TV with a DVD player. There is a huge deck that spans the whole length of the front of the house with outdoor furniture during the summer months. Seperate garage houses laundry facilities (the house is professionally cleaned so no linen laundry at the end of your stay is required) and a charcoal grill. No Pets are allowed.

This is an excellent location for outdoor activities virtually year round. It's close proximity to the ski resort is ideal during the ski season. Spring, summer, and fall it is the perfect location for hiking, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, or just lounging on the huge deck admiring the scenery and the humming birds. A forest service hiking trail begins about 300 yards from the house and can be used to hike to the 11,000' cliff that you see behind the house in the main photo. Many back country hunting trips begin from this location. Drive south towards Durango just a few miles and swim at Trimble Hot Springs and check out Bakers Bridge and Cascade Creek where locals swim and sunbathe on the Animas river. There are horseback and ATV rentals in the area as well as 4X4 off road excursions of various lengths very close by. Remember you are at almost 9000' at the Bonner cabin and that's where the mountain playground really becomes a true Alpine experience. Within short walking distance of the house are ski / mountain bike rentals, a liquor store and a convenience / gas station.
