vacation rental description
Enjoy a quiet, peaceful vacation in a secluded rustic original Lucerne-in-Maine cabin nestled among mature trees on the side of a mountain. Our cabin, built in 1929, has 2 bedrooms, a screened porch, a sun filled dining room, and, a 16x24 ft. deck, all overlooking scenic views of Phillips Lake and the surrounding mountains. You will enjoy the outdoors the entire time you spend at our cabin. We have provided almost all the amentities you will need; including all cooking utensils, linens, outdoor furniture, fire pit, propane or charcoal grill. Or, spend some quiet time in the cabin enjoying a fire in the granite fireplace while watching the 42" Plasma tv with directv, dvd player, WIFI, and much more.
When you venture out to explore Maine's beauty; you will be located 10 - 15 miles from Bangor / Brewer, Maine to the north & Ellsworth, Maine to the south; both of these areas have Super Walmarts and any other possible ammenity you may need.
Further to the south (34 miles) is Bar Harbor, Maine; Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Or, take a drive down coastal Rt. 1, where you can stop at several roadside flea markets, antique shops, scenic views, and, restaurants along the way.
To the north is Moosehead Lake in Greenville, Maine where you will enjoy more scenic views. Moosehead Lake is 40 miles long where a ride on the "Katadin" river boat is a wicked way to capture all the views including Mt. Kineo.
A short distance further to the north is Baxter State Park. This area is more than 20 sq. miles of forest to explore with scenic water falls, lakes, wildlife, and the magnificant Mt. Katahdin...the largest mountain in Maine.
I have lived in this area for 12 years, and I have not been able to see everything Maine has to offer.
We have thought of almost everything! All you will need to bring is groceries, your clothes, family, friends, and your toothbrush!
Come join us for an amazing, restful vacation; fulfilled with beautiful, peaceful scenic views of Maine. I believe you will come back again and again.
If there is anything we may have forgotten or something special you would need during your stay, please ask.
