Summer is coming!   For an early Summer or Fall weekend get-away or weeklong excursion . . . Enjoy our beautiful, 17 year old, family cottage on private Upper Silver Lake.  Sleeps 8 comfortably with 2 bedrooms on the main floor, and an open-concept loft with 2 twin beds.  The living area has a queen size pull-out sofa.  One full bathroom.

Our kitchen is stocked with dishes & utensils for eating inside or on the deck looking over the lake or enjoying a beautiful sunset!

Very neat and clean property.  We are close to the majestic Dunes, but away from the noise. 

Dates are filled on a first come, first served basis.  A $250 refundable security deposit is required to hold date along with a signed rental agreement.  Deposit is forfeited if the reservation is cancelled within 30 days of arrival.  Full rental amount required a minimum of 30 days prior to check-in.  We require the cottage to be cleaned & linens/towels washed (if ours are used) upon departure, otherwise half of deposit is forfeited.  We can only accept Spring & Fall rentals made with a minimum 2 week advance booking notice. Sorry, no last minute rentals allowed.

Weekly rentals are Saturday to Saturday.  Daily rates available per night prior to Memorial Day and after Labor Day.    

NO SMOKING and NO PETS allowed anywhere on premises.  We limit rentals to a MAXIMUM of 8 people.

vacation rental rates

Weekly rates are:

$1,300 per week during June 2013, plus $250 refundable security deposit

$1,500 per week, plus $250 refundable security deposit, June 29 through September 7, 2013. 

$1,100 per week, plus $250 refundable security deposit before Memorial Day and after Labor Day.

Nightly rates (vary depending on season) are available prior to Memorial Day and after Labor Day.  Nightly rates may be available during summer season -- call or email for availability.

Cottage must be left in same condition as upon arrival.  If cottage is not clean & linens/towels are not washed, a cleaning fee of $125 will be deducted from security deposit.

Little Slice of Heaven on Upper Silver Lake

Stayed here during Apple Fest/BBQ Cook-Off in Sept. 2012. Beautiful lakefront chalet on Upper Silver Lake. Clean and comfortable, owners were a joy to deal with. We came in late in the day but had no problems getting into the cottage. The lake is beautiful from the large deck, just wish it had been alittle warmer out that week-end. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the dunes and then some quiet time on the lake. Thank-you Karen and Steve for sharing!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Our cottage stay was excellent. The cottage is very neat and clean. It is located on the wide part of the lake, looking north across the clean, clear water. The sunsets are spectacular. This cottage has one of the best views on the entire lake. Large windows keep things aired out, and with the French doors give a nice view. The shallow, sandy swimming area is in the sun all day. Due to the sea wall, the water is a couple steps down from the lush, grassy flat front lawn. The lawn has a mix of sun and nice shade from well situated trees on the east and west. The walk-out deck is also very pleasant for relaxing or having a meal at the picnic table. A couple of nice lounge chairs are perfect for watching all the fun on the lake. It's only 5 steps down from the deck to the lawn. We enjoyed several fires in the firepit on the front lawn. You can catch some bass or panfish from the dock, or bring your boat and explore the lake. We did really well fishing for crappie this year.

The kitchen/dining/family room area was well lit, airy and open. There was plenty of space for 6 adults to eat, relax, and have a good time. The sleeping accomodations were good. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked for preparing meals. If you don't like well water taste, bring bottled drinking water.

There are many fun things to do in and around Silver Lake for families. Dunes, dune buggies and off-road vehicles, mini golf, golf, all the water sports, souvenir shops - a variety to satisfy kids of all ages. When you need a break, Pentwater is a nice town to visit.

This was our fifth different cottage rented on Upper Silver Lake, where we have been vacationing for 25 years, and this rental was top notch. The owners were very good to work with.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers

Family-Friendly & Fun!

Our family has stayed in this cottage for 2 consecutive summer vacations. We have 2 young daughters who were between the ages of 2 and 5 1/2 at the times of our stays. We had plenty of room for the 4 of us. We enjoyed evening meals on the deck and cozied up to the kitchen island for breakfast. There is also a large dining table. We roasted marshmallows over the fire pit and made Tonka Toaster sandwiches. The girls loved playing in the sandbox and enjoyed the sand toys that were provided. They especially loved having the sandbox close to the lake so they could hop down the dock steps and haul up buckets of water for mud pies. We so appreciated having a cottage that was close to the water. It made it easy to run back inside for quick potty-training trips and to load up on snacks and drinks. When I was inside preparing meals I could still see and hear what was going on outside and I didn't feel excluded from the fun. The lake was very shallow all the way to the end of the dock. Our kids felt safe wading in the smooth,clean,sandy-bottomed lake.

The cottage has a lot to offer for many ages. My 16 year old nephew and his buddy came up for the day and had a blast playing in the dunes and on the sea-doos (our own). We toured a local large dairy farm and sampled some cheese, chocolate milk, and ice cream. Our daughters loved the Dune Scooter ride and riding in the dunes in Daddy's truck. We rode our sea-doos across the lake to a small park area and played on the swings and teeter-totters. We toured Little Sable Lighthouse and taught our daughter to ride a 2 wheel bike in the cul-de-sac. Our young daughters loved playing in the loft. It felt like their own fort. They used some toys that were provided (our younger daughter is still singing "Polly Put the Kettle On" that she learned from the old Barney VHS tape)as well as some toys from home (maybe you will find our missing Polly Pocket shoes).

We loved the open-concept layout of the kitchen/dining/living/loft area. Everything was clean and neat. We found the mattress in the spare bedroom to be more comfortable for us than the mattress in the master bedroom.

This was a fantastic place to vacation with our family!
