Big Groups or Romantic Getaway, Big Land, Rivers and Karaoke in Julian

This vacation rental is great for a large group of people or small. Two houses on one large wooded and flat property. The main features here are the labyrinth, the spacious and private land, playground and the karaoke machine. The first larger house sleeps up to thirteen people. It has three bedrooms. In the Master bedroom, there is a private, full tiled bathroom and a queen bed and a twin bed.

 In the 2nd bedroom, there are two twin beds. In the third bedroom there is a queen bed. There is a large loft upstairs with a queen size sofa sleeper. Downstairs there are three sleeper sofas that sleep four people and another wood burning fireplace (firewood included). The second house sleeps up to nine people. Upstairs there is one large bedroom with an eastern King bed and two sofa sleepers in the living room.

This place of solitude once inhabited by Native Americans is great for a large group of people of up to 17 for retreat or to celebrate or for a private couple getaway in the smaller house 350 feet away. Camping or weddings are allowed with prior approval and must rent both houses for this. We have about 40 parking spaces available for guests on the property. The two houses are on about 15 beautiful wooded, Oak studded acres with granite boulders and is on the border of the 3700 acre Santa Ysabel Preserve.

There is an orchard here of apple, Peaches, Apricots, Cherry, plum, goji berry, pear, persimmon, walnut, nectarine, pluot, quince, mulberries (Black and Pakistan), Pineapple Guava, Pomegranite, Contorted Jujube, Olive and Almond trees and you are welcome to their harvest. There are also blackberries, boysenberries, raspberries, strawberries, grapes and blueberries.

There are three water ways on the property and we are at the headwaters of the San Diego River. There are hundreds of 50 to 200 year old Oak trees here and beautiful granite boulders to climb or sit on to enjoy the beauty surround and listen to bird song in a very private setting.

• In the main house, there is a fully stocked kitchen - bread machine, Kitchen Aid ice cream maker, Kitchen Aid mixer, waffle maker, (etc.), In the rest of the house, there are board games, a reading library, and an ENORMOUS wooden unit block set made by Community Playthings. Many windows make this house very bright. The 2nd smaller house is about 325 feet away from the larger house making it extremely private. If you are in a group though, it is within walking distance to the larger house. There are board games, recipe books and a reading library. Outside, there are horse shoes for playing with and panning for gold (Please request horseshoes or panning equipment ahead of time). Our biggest features are the large land, rivers, large outdoor labyrinth (3/4 mile walk), karaoke machine and Cedarworks chemical-free playground.

There is a Karaoke machine with microphones and a lot of CD's in the main house with hundreds of songs. It is plugged into the large screen television. Some examples of the songs that there are: eight children's CD's (children's music), 1000 song collection of 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's music, Jim Croce, The Carpenters, Mamma Mia, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, South Pacific, Grease, Annie, The Sound of Music, Evita, four Latin discs in Spanish - Juan Gabriel, Selena, Ruben Blades and Serrat, and much more. The houses are aired-out for three hours at least twice a week even when it's cold. That means the air is fresh, mountain air. Enjoy!
