vacation rental description

Your hosts, Timothy and Donna welcome you to the charm of the Victorian era with the luxury of the 21st century.
We are no longer participating in Whole-House rentals. Operating as a B&B year round...visit our website - "HouseOnMainStreet 'dot' com - for avaiability and online booking!.
This comfortable house is nestled in a lovely suburban tree lined setting. A short walk to The Clark Art Institute, Williams College, and local shopping and dining. We are also close to many area attractions - walk to massage therapist, walk to local health spa, 10 minute drive to Mass MoCA (Museum of Contemptorary Art), and only 15 minutes from Jiminy Peak Ski Resort.

The historic House On Main Street, known as the Victorian Tourist
& Antique House
in a by-gone era, was originally constructed in
the mid 1700's and was moved to this site, near where Fort Hoosac
previously stood, around 1830. The house has known such famous
personalities as President Woodrow Wilson (yes he slept here, visited often and enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner here in 1914) and it is frequented by actors from the Williamstown Theater Festival. There've been many additions and renovations before being fully remodeled in 1986, with a freshening in 2005, taking great care to preserve the quality features of the house. Today there are six spacious, airy bedrooms for our guests to enjoy.

All rooms are available and we serve a complimentary, full breakfast.  No kitchen privilages.  It is ideal for Corporate Meetings/Retreats, Reunions, etc. Of course, it is also suitable for a single family. The house has 9 rooms - 6 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms. The livingroom has an inviting often crackling fireplace with a
great draw. The house sleeps up to 16. There is a large living room, front porch & side screened porch. The home is fully equipped with sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, menus to area restaurants, TV and family games in the living room.
