vacation rental description

This simple cabin is perfect for someone looking for a quiet place to get away and relax.

It has three bedrooms, with queen beds in two of the bedrooms and two twins in the third bedroom. The newly re-carpeted living room has a wood burning fireplace, a large comfy couch, and a spectacular view of Whiteside Mountain

The large front porch is also perfect for sitting and looking at the mountain, and the spacious front yard is a great place for kids to play. The whole property is surrounded by woods, so it is quiet and secluded.

The kitchen is fully furnished and sheets and towels are provided.

This is a simple, comfortable cabin that our family has owned for years. We love it dearly and know that you will too.

activities and attractions in Highlands Smoky Mountains

Sitting in the living room or on the front porch, relaxing and looking at the mountain is really the best thing about this cabin, but when you get tired of sitting, there is lots to do. You can take a 10 minute hike down the road and go spelunking in "Granite City" as the locals call it, a series of caves and rock formations in the side of the mountain. For a longer hike, you can drive about 5 minutes down to the trail head of the Chattooga River Trail. In 10 minutes you can drive to a spectacular and fun sliding rock, just off the side of the road, that is great fun for kids and adults alike. In 20 minutes, you can drive down Bullpen Road to the Chattooga River and hike or picnic along the river, and, if you want to eat out or need a city fix, downtown Highlands and Cashiers are both just a 15 minute drive from the house. If you want to play golf, High Hampton Country Club in Cashiers is just 15 minutes away.

Finally, don't forget to top off your stay by climbing Whiteside Mountain. Yes, you can climb to the top of the mountain you see in our pictures. Not up the front of course. But you can drive about 20 minutes to the back side of the mountain where there is a parking area and hike about 30 minutes up to the top. Standing on the precipice of this 5000 ft. mountain, the view is unbelievable. You can see into Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, and if you look real close, you can see the cabin where you are staying in the valley below.

We had a wonderful time at your cabin!

Review submitted: October 22, 2012   Date of arrival: October 14, 2012

Just what we were looking for! Rustic, remote, quiet and cozy. I felt very much at home and it was like I was wrapped up in my grandmothers arms. We do plan on staying again next year!!

Comfortable Mountain Cottage - great view

Review submitted: August 17, 2012   Date of arrival: July 18, 2012

We really enjoyed our stay at Wee Meadows. It was as advertised. The view of Whiteside Mountain from the living room and the porch is the outstanding feature of this property - it's inspiring to see it every time you walk out the front door. It's very relaxing j to sit on one of the proch rockers and enjoy the view. The interior - carpet, sappliances and decor is a bit dated but adequate and functional. The furniture and beds were quite comfortable - dark/quiet nights made for restful sleep.
It is conveniently located between Highlands and Cashiers (locally pronounced, "Cash'rs"), which gives ready options for checking out Cashiers sliding rock, Granite City, Chatooga River headwaters, and various waterfalls , rivers, and hiking trails - the Whiteside Mountain loop is delightful and with binoculars can easily identify Wee Meadows.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, sight seeing

Owners response: Glad you found us as good as advertised. FYI, we will be trying to do a few updates to the cabin in the off season this winter.

Wee Meadow Cabin

Review submitted: April 12, 2012   Date of arrival: April 5, 2012

The little cabin was amazing! Very cozy, homey, and rustic...with an awesome view of Whiteside Mt. (which we did hike and could see the cabin from there!) and a wonderful front porch. The men enjoyed the fireplace with insert to heat. Kitchen was well stocked with necessary items. Description of the cabin was very accurate. And the directions there were perfect. Literature was there for us to plan our visits to waterfalls,, phone, and internet worked fine, though we really did not use them. We were too busy enjoying the mountains! We will make plans to return!!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Glad you enjoyed the cabin and your stay.
