vacation rental description
Try something different for your Boston travels this year. Our houseboat Zephyr a restored 1969 aft cabin classic yacht. You enter in through a completely glassed in helm station. Sun-warmed during the day, this space can be completely opened up at night to capture the cool ocean breeze. There is a bar top table and stools for enjoying a moment up top during sunset.
Following the companionway below deck, you enter into the main salon. Mahogany walls, a custom leather rug and recently renovated floors greet you as you enter. The room is furnished with two reclining leather club chairs, a desk and chair for those that can't escape work, and a 42" flat panel TV with cable and DVR.
Going forward you enter into a small galley kitchen with microwave, cooktop, toaster-oven and a mini fridge. The kitchen area has plenty of storage space and all the cookware and tableware you will need to prepare a home cooked meal. Opposite the kitchen is the dinette/sleeper. This space converts into a full size bed by collapsing the dining table. Linens, blankets and pillows and even a memory foam mattress topper are provided.
In the bow of the boat you'll find two larger than twin bunks, ample storage space and an ensuite half bathroom. There is also skylight/deck-hatch to let in the cool summer breeze.
In the stern of the boat is the main bedroom. This room is set up with twin beds with memory foam mattresses on either wall and a large bureau in the center. A second bathroom with a shower is also accessed from this room as well.
This boat most comfortably sleeps 2 couples or a few adults with a few children.
Location:
Located in a very secure and gated marina, our houseboat is just minutes away from downtown Boston’s most popular attractions; Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market, the North End, the New England Aquarium, the Children’s Museum and the Boston Convention Center. Our convenient location makes it easy for you reach points of interest along the waterfront on foot, via water ferry ($1.75 each way), water taxi or FREE shuttle bus. If you prefer to take your own transportation, parking is available at a nearby garage (2 blocks away) for $18/day.
Transportation and Local Attraction Information
MBTA (Trains Bus and Subway
MGH Shuttle (Massachusetts General Hospital shuttle schedule)
The Experience:
We provide all linens, towels, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, plus bathroom products such as soaps, shampoos, and lotions. We even include a Keurig coffeemaker with a variety of coffee pods for your enjoyment. Cable and WiFi are included free with the rental and the houseboat is fully air-conditioned and heated for your comfort in any season. All this for less than the price of the smallest room at any of the nearby downtown waterfront hotels!
The boat is in a protected part of the marina, but there can be some occasional movement during the day when boats pass by. At night the waters are very calm and some guests even find that a bit of gentle swaying relaxes them and makes for a very restful sleep.
After a long day of touring the city there is nothing better than relaxing on your own private sun deck with a cold drink in hand, listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean as you enjoy the fantastic view of Boston’s city skyline! So come join us and float all your cares away on Zephyr!
THIS BOAT IS RENTED FOR ACCOMMODATION PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT LEAVE THE DOCK.
