Agate Beach Guest House at Big Lagoon in Trinidad

Situated on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Coast, our spacious and charming 3-bedroom, 2-bath home features ocean views from every west facing window, a stone fireplace and a lovely perennial garden with a deck in front.  Located in the coveted Big Lagoon area of Trinidad, Patrick's Point can be seen out the front window.  Our guest house sleeps 6 (3 queen beds) and has everything you need for the perfect vacation.    Much care has been taken to provide this spacious, clean house with a feel of ease and relaxation.  One way to describe our guest house is "Mad Men goes to the beach".  Our house was built in the late 60's and we have worked hard to maintain that era's design esthetic.  We have left many of the original features including lighting, wallpaper, and furnishings, while keeping the clean comforts and amenities of today. 

Our guest house sleeps 6 (3 queen beds) and has everything you need for the perfect vacation.  The house has the easy feel of a beach house with linen slip-covered furniture and designer tile work in the kitchen and bathrooms. LInens for bed, bath, and kitchen are furnished, as are dishes, flatwear, utensils, and cookware.  The living room features a large stone fireplace, TV, cable, and a piano.  The dining room has a large french pine dining table that overlooks the ocean and garden and provides a place for our guests to relax and share a delicious meal prepared in the fully equipped kitchen.  The master bedroom has a queen bed, private master bathroom with shower and ocean & garden views.  The second and third bedrooms overlook a lovely tree-lined meadow, both have queen beds, and share a full bath with tub and shower across the hall.  We have WiFi and free long distance phone for your convenience.  There is a two car garage for your vehicle which also houses the washer and dryer for your use. 

It is only a few minutes walk to pristine Agate Beach nd Big Lagoon itself.  We're located only five minutes north of Trinidad, 35 minutes north of Eureka, 45 minutes south of Redwood National Park, and 15 minutes north of the Eureka/Arcata Airport.  Our home provides seclusion and quiet.  Listen to the soothing sounds of the waves while watching a spectacular sunset over the ocean and perennial garden.  Big Lagoon is a fascinating and important resting and feeding site for thousands of birds and other wildlife, such as river otters.  One can often see the otters and their pups feeding at sunset near the Big Lagoon boat launch.  Kayaking, canoeing, and fishing are some of the activities one can enjoy at Big Lagoon.  Agate and driftwood hunting on Agate Beach is a favorite pastime for guests, as is hiking on the beach, or picnicking at Big Lagoon.  At the house whale watching out the front window is an exciting pasttime.  Also, on clear nights, one can see the night sky filled with stars rising and setting like the sun out the front windows. 

$285 + 12% tx per night /$1850 + 12% tx per week  during high season, from 5/1 to 9/30

$245 + 12% tx per night /$1650 + 12% tx per week during low season, from 10/1 to 4/30

2 night min/3 night min holidays.

Holidays include:  New Years, Martin Luther King Day, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, Spring Break/Easter, Memorial Day, 4thof July, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas. 

HSU GRADUATION has the rate of $375 per night for up to 6 guests, plus 12% tax and $125.00 cleaning fee, and has a 4-night minimum.

$500.00 fully refundable security/damage deposit

Reservations must be prepaid in full either by credit card or by check or money order within 7 days of booking.

Deposit fully refundable less $25.00  fee if cancellation is made within 14 days of arrival date.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Notice of cancellation must be in writing and received more than 30 days prior to check in date for a full refund less $50.00 cancellation fee. If cancellation is made between 15 and 30 days prior to check in date, 25% of the sums paid and the $50.00 cancellation fee will be forfeit. There will be no refund within 14 days or less of arrival, no exceptions.
