Old-Florida Beach Cottage Heaven

Suzanne501 (Dothan, AL, USA)
Review submitted: September 5, 2011   Date of arrival: September 1, 2011

Our whole family LOVED Cloud 9. My boys, 8 and 6 ,wanted to live there forever. The crab traps and hammock did it for them, and we all enjoyed all of the adorable accessories, shells and other beachy things. It is old-Florida cottage heaven. We caught blue crabs, hermit crabs a mullet and a flounder in the crab traps. You can fish right off the dock, or use one of the kayaks for a relaxing cruise on the bay. Just a few steps across a 2-lane road and you are on a wide, uncrowded, pristine Gulf beach. Walk 1/2 mile or so down to the end of the beach and look across the pass to an island wildlife refuge. Go 1/4 mile in the other direction for live music and baked oysters at the Indian Pass Raw Bar. If exploring nature and complete relaxation is what your after, surrounded by Southern Living, cute cottage decor, you'll love this place.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: So glad you discovered the Forgotten Coast and enjoyed some of the fun activities & adventures Indian Pass has to offer! Next time you might enjoy taking the ferry to St Vincent's Wildlife Refuge. You can rent bikes or bring your own. And we also believe that Cloud 9 is the perfect beach cottage!!.Thanks Suzanne & family!

Relaxing and beautiful

emsfamily (Marietta, GA)
Review submitted: June 14, 2011   Date of arrival: December 30, 2010

This is a very sweet house. It is beautifully restored and decorated, yet it still maintains it's "old florida" feel and atmosphere. We went kayaking right off the backyard and spotted dolphins, manatees and lots of oyster beds. Out the front door is the beach and the gulf - even built a bonfire on the beach at night. It's so relaxing and quiet! We enjoy every minute of it everytime we go! Perfect house. Perfect atmosphere. Awesome owners!
