The cottage has 2 Double Bedrooms (Air conditioning is
available for US$ 10 per night),2 Bathrooms, Living Area, and
Dining Area.You also have a Patio area and a Terrace area for
dining outdoors.
Fully furnished and decorated to a high standard. Fully fitted
kitchen complete with Fridge Freezer, Oven & Hob/Grill all utensils
tableware etc, plus all Kitchen gadgets.
Inclusive Towels, Beach towels, Hairdryer.
Radio, CD Player and Television
Maid will come 2 times a week which is inclusive.
Bedlinen will be changed once a week.

Mullins beach, located only 3 minutes walk away and is
one of the most popular beaches on the west coast; the bar is a
great spot to grab a drink, snack or lunch during the day, or to
drop by later on for a romantic sunset dinner or nightcap.
Mullins beach also offers: Full water sports Catamaran Cruises and
trips to swim with the turtles.
Holetown 10 mins drive (or a short bus drive away also where you will
find the Banks, Post Office, Supermarkets and General Shops. In
the Other direction 5mins away there is the quaint village of
Speighstown
All major Attractions of Barbados, are within easy reach from
Highway 2A which is located at the top of the road.
Public transport is also within walking Distance.

This was the second visit to Mullhaven for me and my wife Judy, we stayed for three weeks, Judys' sister and husband joined us for the last two weeks. The property is well equipped for two couples having full kitchen facilities and the use of laundry equipment (essential for longer stays). We made full use of the external covered decking area and the barbecue, there is a dining table indoors but we never used it as we love the outdoors. Me and the brother in law did however occasionally watch the TV in the lounge area if there was any important sport events showing.
The gardens and the essential swimming pool are a real joy, both of which are well maintained by discreet and courteous local workers. It was also reassuring to see a professional pest control contractor employed to handle the interior and exterior of the property. There is a wide range of well established beautiful trees, shrubs, plants and flowers all of which attract a variety of birds but the most intriguing wild life were the monkeys that travelled through the garden most mornings on their hunt for food. They regularly stopped off at Mullhaven to raid the apple and mango trees, they very wisely did not attack the bananas.
The cottage formed the original building, (to which has been added Karins home), and although dated is well decorated and with really comfortable beds. Both the bedrooms are en suite, fitted with air conditioning, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. All of the bedroom windows are covered in a fine gauze so on the advice of Karin we left the windows wide open all night and just operated the ceiling fan without the need of the annoying AC or mozzie net , we slept very well without getting bitten.
It is reassuring to know when staying away from home that you can obtain support,advice, information and help, Karin and Neil were the perfect hosts and did this but still remained quietly in the background. Karin has lots of local knowledge which she shares.
We had a car for the whole period but it is not required. Mullins beach is five minutes walk away. Taxis and buses are cheap (compared to UK) and easy to use.
Key tips:
Get flying fish, shark and swordfish from the fish market on the road to Holetown, be there at 10.00am opening
Try the local take way food sold from the vans (also from Morgans bar, road to Speightstown)
Try a sundown rum punch at the Mullins beach shop
Mombas Bar is a must for food and drinks, better atmosphere than Mullins restaurant.

Recommended for: age 55+, sight seeing, tourists without a car

Owners response: One of the joys of letting our cottage is the lovely people we get to meet. A high proportion of our guests are regular repeat visitors who we feel are more friends than just tourists. We try to make every one feel special - because they are to us - and for their vacation on this lovely island to be memorable. We get our reward when we see reviews such as this which makes it all so worthwhile.

Great value and relaxing environment

Our 6th stay at Mullhaven Cottage and it should be renamed to ''A bit of Heaven in Barbados'', quiet and serene. Although we have been to Barbados 12 time we found this location most suitable to us. It is quiet and relaxing. We love the garden and the many varieties of birds, busy building nests and just generally flying about. We love the humingbirds drinking nectare from the many flowers or protecting their nests. The garden is full of many different flowers, always in bloom and a bowl full of them in your living room, fresh every time the maid comes. The cottage is very clean, kitchen well equipped and beach towels galore. The pool is a good size and a great place to laze around all day long. If you prefer the Sea its less than a five minute walk to Mullins beach where you can swim, tahn or go for a long walk. If you walk back around 4:30 p.m. you may be lucky enough to see the monkies crossing the road.

Karin and Neil are gracious hostws always willing to provide information about shopping and restaurants. A great place to relax, enjoy the garden and work on your tan.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car
