vacation rental description
If you are seeking the ultimate luxury vacation with privacy and romance than look no further. Experience your island sanctuary with breathtaking views of the crystal blue ocean and your own private beach house located directly on the beach, (2 villas steps away from each other, 2 guests per unit) beautifully decorated with gorgeous Caribbean furniture, a luxurious king size bed featuring the highest quality linens, ultra plush bath towels, and comfy white waffle weave, spa robes. With no neighbours in site, imagine upon your arrival that you are greeted with drinks on ice, smooth island music and some delicious Bahamian dishes prepared especially for you. Sink into complete bliss with an on site professional massage, a cool cocktail with your loved one while sitting in your own private screened in deck or relaxing on a hammock under the majestic Casarinas....your choice. A large plazma screen satellite TV, stereo system and free wifi will get you in the vacation mood while keeping you connected.
Your vacation sanctuary offers complete privacy, beautiful white sand beaches, and crystal clear water surrounding the property as it is on a point, creating the most incredible panoramic views, sun rises and ultimate relaxation. The properties are located on "Nicholl's Town Point" which is on the North East side of Andros Island. The beach heading both north and south of the property are virtually void of any buildings or people however, within walking distance (2 minutes) you will find the local tikki huts serving native dishes, drinks, and small grocery stores. We believe our point holds one of the most incredible views in the Caribbean where the ocean surrounds you on both the north and east side of the property creating a stunning panoramic view. Andros Island is the perfect holiday to bring your flip flops, sunscreen, and a great book. It is also a great place for self made activity such as going for a run on a cool crisp morning and listening to the roosters crow, meandering around the village by foot or bicycle, taking a long walk on the beach and jumping in the ocean to cool off, snorkling along one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, fish all day -deep sea or bone fish and catch dinner for the night.
LIVING AREA SET UP:
Each unit is a self contained, clean, open concept design with lots of light. Each unit has its own private bathroom, fully stocked open concept kitchen and living area.
ACTIVITIES:
AndrosIsland is full of activities to do both in and out of the water. Whether it's fishing for trophy-size fish, exploring ancient ruins, bird-watching, hunting for buried treasure, meandering through quaint coastal towns and villages, shopping for batik fabrics or simply soaking up the tropical sunshine,AndrosIsland has something for everyone.
BICYCLES:
Bicycles are available for rent. Tour the areas surrounding Nicholl’s Town. We have maps and suggested itineraries. Or bike a few miles south to an inland blue hole for a fresh water swim.
FISHING:
Book a 1/2 or full day. Andros offers world class Bonefishing, reef fishing, deep sea fishing—you can do it all! You can hire a guide for a day or just cast a line off the point right on your own private beach. Andros is known as the "Bonefish Capital of the World".
MASSAGE:
Book an on site massage: a massage therapist will come to you, enjoy a massage on the beach or under a shady tree with a relaxing breeze
DIVING & SNORKLING:
AndrosIsland has world renowned diving and fantastic reefs for snorkeling. You can dive during the day, night dives, shark dives, and one-on-oneSpecialty Dives anytime. All of this on the Andros Barrier Reef - the 3rd largest reef system in the world! A day trip by boat can be arranged for a fee plus there is plenty of great snorkeling along the shore.
WILD BOAR HUNTING
Andros has an abundance of wild boar. You can hire a guide to take you hunting for a day through the mangrove swamps! This can be a dangerous trek so please do so at your own risk. This certainly is not for the faint of heart, wild boars are vicious animals and have been known to massacre multiple, pit bull dogs in one trip. Or, on a more mellow approach, you can purchase a side of boar from the hunters and cook it over a nice flame on the BBQ (we prefer this method). If you ask nicely, you might even get to keep a few tusks from their recent catch.
BIRDING
There are over 200 species of birds that inhabit theBahamas--andAndros, with its vast undeveloped land, is home to many of them.
HAMMOCKING
One of our favorite activities and can soon be one of yours….
MILES OF UNTOUCHED BEACHES
Anytime is a good time to stroll along the beach. It's perfectly safe, day or night.
COLLECTING SHELLS
Being an undeveloped island, imagine the interesting finds on a leisurely walk down a mile or two of virgin beach, you can find the most beautiful shells, sea urchins, dried coral in multiple colors, and whatever the last storm blew onto shore….
RED BAYS
Basket Weaving A remote village settled by Seminole Indians and Blacks in 1821. The basket-weaving crafts practiced here are detailed and highly advanced.
Red Bays is a very different community on Andros, originally settled by the Seminole Indians from Florida. When theUS was putting Indians in reservations, a group decided not to accept that "good deal", and hopped in their little boats, high-tailing it toAndrosIsland. The people live in a pretty 'rough' style, and it's fascinating to see.
Andros Blue Holes Below the surface of Andros Island is a complex maze of underwater caves called blue holes. Experienced recreational divers can enter from either the ocean or island entrances and retrace the steps of the famous Jacques Cousteau.

How to buy baskets in Andros: On Andros, many people in Red Bays make and sell baskets. Miss Marshall's grandchildren: John Grant and Joan Russell are two of the finest. There are no stores here; buying is a casual affair. Ask around and you'll be guided directly to their homes. Ask anyone where Miss Omeilia Marshall lives so you can visit her and choose from a variety of baskets, hats and bags directly from her. Purchase is with cash only. A small selection of Red Bays baskets are also in the boutique
AndrosBlue Holes Below the surface ofAndrosIslandis a complex maze of underwater caves called blue holes. Experienced recreational divers can enter from either the ocean or island entrances and retrace the steps of the famous Jacques Cousteau.
- Uncle Charlie's Blue Hole Jacques Cousteau made this hole famous when, with the use of dye, he proved this inland blue hole connects to the ocean. This is a favorite place for visitors and locals alike to relax near and take in their tropical surroundings.
- Captain Bill's Blue Hole A large, perfectly round inland blue hole measuring 440 feet in diameter. Both locals and visitors take pleasure in swimming in its crystal blue waters and swinging from a rope overhead.
- Mariner's Well Located inPleasantHarbour is an unusual house constructed in the shape of the letter "A." On this property is a well, called "Mariner's Well" by the locals, said to have been used by the crewmen of the sponging era as far back as the early 17th century.
Native Colony Ruins About a half-mile south ofPleasantHarbour, on the inland side, are eight stone buildings dating back to the 1930s that represent the old Bahamian style of architecture. They are open for exploration and are excellently preserved due to the fact that, for some unknown reason, they were abandoned and never inhabited.
Morgan's Cave/Morgan's Bluff A wide system of subterranean limestone caves, complete with stalactites and stalagmites, reputed to hold the treasures of famed pirate and namesake, Sir Henry Morgan, whose treasure has yet to be found.
The AndrosRegatta October at Morgan's Bluff features held annually in late festivities for all visitors and boating enthusiasts. Some sixty locally-constructed sailing sloops meet in the waters off Morgan's Bluff,North Andros, for a day of fierce competition. Vessels contesting the races fall into five categories ranging in size from 28 feet to 120 feet. A party atmosphere prevails onshore, with a festival of island food, native music and entertainment. Regatta date is subject to change. Special mailboat and plane excursions departNassauforNorth Androsa day prior to Regatta.
