vacation rental description

My Beach House Rentals offers historic beach homes, Oceanfront townhouses,
small quaint beach cottages and large beach houses for all of your family and friends.
Please contact Lauren through this email contact for info on all beach properties.
Small boutique management with only the best houses - 12 to choose from.

Come and relive your childhood memories of trips to the beach in my
original Tybee Island Beach House (circa 1930). Tybee is a little-
changed community which limits building heights to three stories.
There are no high-rise condos here. There are wonderful old beach
neighborhoods to cycle through. You can enjoy long walks under the
shade of live-oak tree canopies. This house is on the south end of
the island nestled among many old beach homes. It is the fourth
house
from the beach. There are no streets to cross to get to the large
sandy shore. My Beach House is tucked down a private sandy lane with
parking for you at the house. No public parking on your lane. It is
a short walk to town, great restaurants, shops, pubs
and to the pier. My Beach House is filled with vintage
furnishings which are for sale to our guests.

Relax upstairs on the large screened porch on comfortable vintage
wicker and catch the ocean breezes.

AC/Heat

The coastal region of Georgia has a relatively moderate climate.
Average temperatures of the islands are slightly lower than on the
mainland. Sea breezes offer relief from intense summer heat. Daily
maximum temperatures in July and August (the warmest months) are
usually in the 80s and low 90s. The islands are the only part of the
state south of Atlanta that has mean daily maximum temperatures
below
90F in July and August (Carter 1967).

Winters are relatively mild and short. The average minimum
temperature for December and January (the coldest months) is about
43
F. On the average, there are 305 freeze-free days at Brunswick and
267 at Savannah (Carter 1967)

Tybee Island is a unique small coastal barrier island only 11 miles
east of Savannah, GA. The origin of the unusual name of "Tybee" is
in
itself a legend. Native Americans came to the island to hunt and
fish, and gave it the name Tybee, which is a Euchee Indian word
meaning "salt."
Approximately 2,500 locals call Tybee home with the summer
population swelling to 8,000 at times. Tybee has many restaurants -
from fine dining to favorites with a more casual atmosphere.

Beach lovers from all over the world come to the Tybee Island
beaches, Lighthouse, Marine Science center, Museums, Fort Screven
and
nearby Fort Pulaski.

Tybee Island's history is reflected by theLighthouse, constructed in
1739. The structure, which stands today is 154 feet high.

Numerous historic attractions on or near the island range from Fort
Pulaski National Monument, Fort Pulaski was a Civil War - era fort
and is now operated by the National Park Service, to the famous
Savannah Historic District, located west of Tybee Island.
Come and explore the island's newest addition, the Tybee Pier and
Pavilion, located on the strand between 15th and Tybrisa streets.

Tybee is a peaceful 15 minute drive over the marsh from historic
Savannah, GA. Savannah is the setting for the popular
novel, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."
From 1897 to 1947, Fort Screven was an integral part of America's
coastal defense system. Troops trained and stood guard on Tybee
