Seahorse Shores is a very clean and tastefully decorated duplex in a lovely landscaped setting
featuring many flowering plants and tropical trees. It is an ideal vacation retreat and has been
completely remodeled to deliver a high level of comfort and amenities.
We have been proudly serving guests since 2001. Our guests return again and again to enjoy our
clean, quiet, safe and comfortable accomodations in a great location. Put our address into Google

You are just a 10 minute walk to Nokomis Beach, 1/2 mile away on Casey Key. Nokomis Beach is one of
the nicest beaches in Florida. There are no high rises and the buildings are set back from the
dunes. Casey Key has the highest concentration of nesting sea turtles of any U.S. beach on the Gulf
of Mexico.
Your vacation retreat is approximately 800 square feet and features 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen,
living/dining area, and Florida room.
TO MAKE A RESERVATION:
Please email us to confirm availability (we may have a reservation pending) and to double check
rates (rates
are at the bottom of this page but cannot cover every situation). We will hold the dates for you
and email you
a Lease to return with your
reservation deposit which can be paid by personal check or via PayPal if you wish to use a credit
card). Once
we receive your reservation deposit we will provide you with keybox instructions and you can arrive
at
any time of day and let yourself in. We will then meet with you to collect the balance, tax and
refundable
security deposit. (High season monthly rentals require are handled somewhat differently).

We often have retired teachers, writers, younger couples with children, and guests with small pets

are ''members of the family''. Many of our clientel come to us because it is a two bedroom that
allows them to
have guests, friends that vacation with them, or local family that may stay for a few nights. Some

- Visit the world famous Venice Audubon Rookery where herons, egrets and other birds nest. 8 miles
away,
free. Peak Season is Winter/Spring. Google "Venice Audubon Rookery"
- Scuba Dive off of Venice Beach for fossil sharks' teeth including huge Megalodon teeth and other
fossils. You
can go right in from the shore. 4 miles away. Or go out on a Florida West Scuba School charter boat
that will
put you right on the best spots. You can also get quickly certified and do your training dives right
from the
beach where the sharks' teeth are. Visibility is best in April, May & June but divers go year round.

demonstration day to try paddling many models for free. You can also rent Kayaks and Canoes at

-- Visit Myakka River State Park and walk thru the tree tops on one of the world's few canopy walks.
They also
have tours on the world's largest airboat for up close views of alligators and other wildlife

-- Ride a bicycle or walk along our newly completed trails: the Venetian Waterway Park in Venice (10
miles of
paved trail along both sides of the intercoastal waterway) and the 12 Mile Legacy Trial from Venice
to Sarasota.

-- Great Fishing and Golfing is plentiful and well known to those who enjoy those sports. The Venice
Jetty Fish
Camp (1.5 miles away) sells live bait shrimp before dawn to those wishing to fish early.
-- See the threatened Florida Scrub Jay in the wild at Oscar Scherer State Park, just 3 1/2 miles
away. You are
virtually guaranteed to see them if you go on the ranger led nature walk at 8:30am Sundays January
thru
March. Other walks are at 8am Thursdays, 8:30am Fridays and there are guided canoe tours Wednesdays
at

-- Take a unique 90 minute tour of Venice waterways and streets in "Just Ducky", an amphibious
vehicle. 2

-- Eat Grouper sandwiches and other great local seafood at Pelican Alley, Pop's Sunset Grill, Marker

Eddie's and Briandi's, all less than 3 miles from your front door.
-- Visit Mote Marine Aquarium in Sarasota and learn about the sea turtles that nest on Nokomis Beach
and

-- Explore the area beaches in addition to the one down the street. You can find fossil shark's
teeth on the
