Spectactular vacation home

My family of 5 along with my sister's family of 4 vacationed at this beautiful home last week and I cannot say enough about what a Spectactular home this is. The minute we walked in the door we knew we had made the right decision in selecting this home for our vacation. It iis such a gorgeous new home, inside and out. The house was sooooo clean, extremely spacious and very well maintained. The furniture all looks brand new. The kitchen is a dream with a huge island and awesome ice maker which came in handy when filling our coolers to go to the beach everyday. We had a great week of beautiful weather and spent everyday at the private beach which is just a short distance from the house. The beach is very sandy and spacious and our kids ages 6 -11 had a ball swimming off the dock and building sand castles. The water in front of the beach is very shallow which makes it great for younger kids. The only downside of the beach was not having a bathroom easily accessible, especially if you have young kids. We would have to do the 2 minute drive back to the house to use the bathroom. The house and the private beach access are definitely worth this minor inconvenience.
We rented a pontoon boat for 1 day from the local marina and had a wonderful time exploring the lake. Lastly, I want to mention how accommodating and friendly Karen, the owner was to deal with. She provided us with a welcome packet of info about the house and area which answered all of our questions and was very helpful to have. We fell in love with this house and Thompson Lake and hope to return next summer.

Recommended for: families with young children, girls getaway

Unbelievably Beautiful and Peaceful Home

This home is by far one of the best year round vacation spots ever! It is a short distance to skiing in the winter and a short walk to the beachfront in the summer. There is so much to say about this house. First off, it is HUGE! As soon as you walk in, the view is amazing. It is brand new with all high end state of the art appliances! The kitchen is beautiful and has its own ice maker and wine cooler! We used the beachfront that we had access to all week and was very secluded and peaceful. You can even dock your boat or jetski there! You couldn't beat the view from the back of the house which had a wrap around deck that overlooked Thompson Lake and was filled with plenty of seating and lounger chairs to lay out on while we cooked on the grill. The master bedroom was way to big and had a huge walk in shower. The upstairs bedrooms were also very large as well as the bathroom. The lower level of the house had even more bedrooms and another living room area as well as additional seating. It was super convenient that there was both a washer and dryer there too! We did not get to use the sauna on the lower level as we spent most of our days out in the sun but would be so nice in the winter months! We visited the Oxford speedway that was close by and was a great show. Also right up the street is an ATV dealer that offers trail guides and maps for those who are into riding through the wilderness of Maine. This home is perfect for a family reunion or even a girls get-a-way. Everything you need is close by and there is even a binder that tells you about how to operate the TV, Internet, where all the closest restaurants are, shopping, etc. I would highly recommend this home! Trust me, you will never want to leave.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing

Dream Vacation Home

My family and I vacationed at this stunning timberframe home last August. It was spectacular on the inside and out! The amenities were immense and no detail spared. The woodwork in the home is breathtaking and the amount of sunlight let in by the floor to ceiling windows in the great room is beyond belief! The massive "state of the art" kitchen is one that most people dream about having! The back deck is beautiful and perfect for grilling while lounging and watching the children play in the back yard. Although it was summer, we could not resist spending a few nights in the sauna. The home is so spacious you could almost "get lost" in it! It is such a warm and comfortable home that you truly feel as if it is "your home!"
A short walk down the road led us to a spectacular private beach. We had access to a large deck for sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, fishing and total relaxation. We packed a lunch and spent every day at the beach. There was so much privacy that it was like being on our own little island!
We ventured out one night across the lake for dinner. There were stores, restaurants & a small arcade that our children loved. A short drive from the home brought us into Norway for groceries and a few other odds and ends that we needed for our stay. There were plenty of stores and restaurants there as well, but we wanted to spend our time at the timberframe!
This home and the luxury of the access to the private beach is a dream vacation!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
