Costa Bonita is a beautiful condominium complex on Mazatlan's best
beach, just north of the Golden Zone. Close to Pueblo Bonito Emerald
Bay, yet costing a fraction of the price.
The complex offers big resort amenities in a small and intimate
environment. On-site lobby concierge service, gift shop, minimarket,
internet access, restaurant, bar, beach snack bar, pool, jacuzzi,
tennis, gym and sauna (for a small fee), volleyball, beach palapas,
children's playground, fish cleaning facilities, gas BBQ, massage
therapy center, etc.
Our place is peaceful and quiet, yet only 10 minutes into the Golden
Zone, with its hundreds of restaurants, bars, and shops, via frequent
bus and inexpensive taxi transportation. Historic old town Mazatlan,
with it's beautiful museums, majestic cathedral, colorful market
place, and daring cliff divers, is an easy 20 minute cab trip away.

This freshly painted, recently remodeled, ground floor unit comes
fully furnished. Queen beds in each bedroom, huge walk-in closet
(specially installed for our long-term renters),sofa bed in living
room, full bathrooms, kitchen with full-size fridge, oven, stove,
dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, toaster, microwave, etc. Utensils
and place settings for 6. Our garden patio overlooks the pool, and
is directly adjacent to the nearby outdoors hot tub.
Stay in touch with friends and family via our apartment's cellular
phone. Bring your laptop to take advantage of our hard-wired
apartment (specially installed for our business guests) and on-site
WiFi capabilities. Equipped with TWO cable TVs and 5.1 surround-sound
stereos (livingroom and master bedroom), our condo offers a video
library with hundreds of movie titles available on DVD, so you won't
have to go out and rent your own. Don't forget to check out our wide
variety of music CD's for your musical enjoyment. We also have a
stack of board games and jigsaw puzzles for your indoor
entertainment, a large collection of paperback books for your
intellectual stimulation, tennis racquets and lots of pool and beach
toys for your fun in the sun.
Walk out onto 3.5 miles of Mazatlan's most sought-after deserted
beachfront, virtually at your doorstep. Sunbathe on the soft sand, or
take a nap on a lounger under the shade of a palapa, specially
reserved for guests at Costa Bonita. Swim and play in gentle waves on
the soft sandy bottom of our beach. For a change of pace, Playa Bruja
is a casual fifteen minute walk away, with its awesome surfing beach,
and rocky point, great for cast fishing.
When you go to Playa Bruja, make sure to visit our favorite casual
dining spot, Mr. Lionso's Restaurant, which features lobster tails
and giant prawns for 130 pesos (about 10 bucks), ice cold Corona and
Pacifico beers, 2 for 1, cost a buck and a half, and huge margaritas,
2 for 1, cost 50 pesos (less than 4 bucks). Also check out Ginger's
Bilingual Horses right next door (yes, they understand commands in
both English and Spanish) for rides on the beach at about $25 an hour.
Enjoy a cool drink on our patio or by the pool after a long day of
sightseeing or frolicking in the water, and witness some of the
world's most beautiful sunsets over the calm Pacific Ocean. Take a
moonlight stroll on the beach, and let the soothing sound of gentle
waves put you into that very special relaxed mood. Return to your
unit, slip into "his and hers" terry cloth robes (provided specially
for our romantic renters ;-), and dip into the hot tub, directly
adjacent to the patio of our apartment ... how seducingly convenient!
The only part of renting from us that we can't truly describe is the
intangible feeling of being "at home" while on vacation. Most other
condos are sterile, cookie cutter units, painted in hotel white, with
exactly four identical hotel towels, exactly six matching dinner
plates, etc. When you walk into our place, you'll immediately notice
the personality of the apartment. Amy has decorated the unit in
bright pastel colors and traditional Mexican motifs. Al's personal
touches are musical, including a hand-made Mexican guitar made from
world-famous Paracho, Michoacan, as well as the antique cornet
sitting on the livingroom cabinet. The kids have their favorite
seashell collections for all to admire, and we've left a few photos
of our family for guests to see with whom they are sharing their very
unique Mexican experience.
Are we exaggerating? This all may sound too good to be true, but
seeing is beleiving! Email us, and we'll send you a big batch of
pictures of us, our kids and family, and our apartment, as well as
the great town and resort complex we've chosen as our very special
home-away-from-home.
"Al and Amy's Oceanfront Getaway" is available for long weekends,
weekly, monthly, or long-term rentals. Utilities and taxes (17% extra
at hotels and resorts) are always included. Our local rental manager
is available 24 hours a day, as is the friendly staff at Costa Bonita.
Before you arrive, we'll send you a list of vacation recommendations,
a list of "what there is to see and do" in and around town, and a
bunch of money saving tips, only known by the locals ... and some
special secret ones not even known by them. Past renters report
having saved hundreds of dollars on our specific referrals to local
doctors and dentists, pharmacies, artisans, sailing cruises, fishing
expeditions, sightseeing excursions, etc. Al (a working professional
jazz musician with many entertainment industry contacts in town) has
even arranged a special discount, exclusively reserved for his Costa
Bonita guests, at Mazatlan's newest luxury waterfront restaurant, the
nearby Marina Seafarer. Say the "secret password" to the manager,
Alfonso, and receive a courtesy discount of 20% ... that's more than
virtually anywhere else in the city ... guaranteed!
Even if our unit is not available, we have several friends at Costa
Bonita with rental units. We'll gladly refer you to someone who may

Our summer rates are $750 per week ($100 per night, plus a $50 cleaning-consumables replacement fee).

Winter rates are $1100  per  week ($150 per night, plus a $50 cleaning-consumables replacement fee), or $2500 per month.

Prime season rates (Christmas, New Years, Easter) are $1500 per week, or $3000 for Christmas or Easter month.

A 10% discount would apply to reservations made within 48 hours of the original inquiry. Discounts for long-term rentals (3-6 months) available.
