Great Getaway in Old Town at Casa Rosa

My husband and I just returned from our first stay in Key West! We found Dolphin Vacations while planning our honeymoon. They were so knowledgeable, helpful and kind to us we have continued to use them. In the past couple years, we’ve stayed at their waterfront homes in Marathon, but this year we decided to have the “Key West experience.” We stayed at Casa Rosa in August 2011 for our anniversary. We were thrilled with the fabulous Old Town location and the incredible “eyebrow home”. Casa Rosa was private and spacious; the furnishings reflected the historical and tropical setting perfectly. Plus, we were delighted that this historic home had central a/c . The pool and yard was private and surrounded by gorgeous tropical foliage. We couldn’t have been happier! We actually ended up spending far more time at the house than we had ever expected. The kitchen and dining room had great views of the pool area and offered easy access to the outdoor BBQ patio and pool. We truly enjoyed the patio during our stay- it offered shade and a nice area to sit and enjoy our margaritas before taking a dip in the pool. With just the two of us, we had to decide which of the four bedrooms we wanted to use. It was difficult to pick between the poolside king with sliding glass doors and view of the pool area, or the romantic queen bedroom with the lovely canopy bed (my choice!). The location of Casa Rosa was ideal for us. We were a block to the fun on Duval St. Also, a few blocks away, we discovered the Harbor Walk area. We loved the waterfront so much we had dinner there twice. In our neighborhood, we found several local coffee shops and a book store (with plenty of Hemingway books). Nearby, there is the famous Fausto’s Food Market (btw, if you see a cat eating out of a can in front, his name is Roscoe and he’s a regular). We had everything we wanted and needed all within walking distance. Casa Rosa and its location are superb! My husband and I had the best time at that home! For a brief time, we had the opportunity of feeling like true “conchs” (as the locals say). We look forward to enjoying many more anniversaries at Casa Rosa.
