vacation rental description
"Sandy Toes" Cottage in Willard Beach Neighborhood--The Best Kept Secret in Maine!
Newly renovated in 2011, this 1931 Willard Beach bungalow is filled with character, charm and convenience. It sleeps 8, with 4 comfortable bedrooms and two full baths. All rooms are delightfully furnished in Maine Cottage style, including the open living room and dining room, with a table that seats up to 8. The attractive, well-stocked kitchen features a breakfast nook that overlooks the lovely fenced-in backyard and deck—a great space for grilling, dining, lounging, or playing with the kids. The newly landscaped gardens are delightful and raspberries are ready to be picked in summer.
The well-designed layout works well for families, with a queen bedroom, and full bath with tub on the first floor, and 3 bedrooms and full bath on the second floor. You’ll also appreciate the two charming nooks for private relaxation (or heaven forbid, a call to the office…), and the new ping-pong table in the partially finished basement (there’s a washer and dryer there too). The lay out also works extremely well for a couple, with one queen bedroom and bath on the first floor.
Now add in location, location, and location to these attractive features and you have a truly memorable vacation rental. You can walk from our quiet residential street to an amazing bakery and sandwich shop (written up in NYTimes), and the yummy homemade ice cream shop—all on your way to or from Willard Beach—our small neighborhood beach with snack bar, restrooms, and playground. (Free and easy parking is available if you choose to drive to the beach). It's a 3 minute drive and 12 minute walk to the beach. And you won't want to miss dining at our gourmet restaurant, David's, also in the neighborhood and within easy walking distance. Check out more activities and attractions below.
"Sandy Toes" is the perfect spot for a memorable vacation--all of our visitors agree with us! So, cook up a plan now to spend a week next summer. Enjoy the best time of the year in Maine. So much awaits you. Dates for summer 2013 are now in the calendar!

Head into Portland (3.5 miles) to enjoy a truly enchanting city with nationally acclaimed local restaurants,(ranked"Top Foodie City" by Bon Appetit magazine) shops, music, a super art museum, children’s museum, many art galleries, and one of the country’s last working waterfronts where you can pick up just-caught fish and lobster at one of the colorful fish markets that dot the harbor. Play golf close by, or take an evening to join the locals as they cheer on their hometown baseball team, the Seadogs.
From Portland’s Old Port District, you can head out on a sailboat, a ferryboat, a kayak, the Duck Boat, or a sightseeing boat to cruise around the islands of Casco Bay-- one of the highlights of any trip to Maine.
