vacation rental description

You’re coming to Marco Island for the sunshine. Make sure you can enjoy it!

When you’re contemplating which property to rent on Marco, we encourage you to pay close attention to the pool area.  Is the pool large enough for your group to enjoy? Does the pool area get sunshine throughout the day? Is there room to move furniture around to catch the sun or shade? Given that most people come to Marco for the sunshine, you’d be surprised how many places don’t offer all these things.

Many of our guest comment that they came for the beautiful beaches, but find they rarely leave the comfort of the house.  There are plenty of comfortable chairs for everyone around the pool. The screened in atrium has a beautiful new oversized outdoor sectional where you can stretch out and read a book in the shade or enjoy an al-fresco dinner around the large patio table. If you want to get closer to nature, head out to the large dock where you can see dolphins frolicking in the water, catch a glimpse of a bashful manatee, watch in wonder as a pelican dives straight into the water to catch its supper, grab a fishing pole and try your luck at catching your own supper, or just catch some rays and listen to the gentle tropical breezes rustle the palm fronds.

Sweet Dreams….

After a hard day of relaxing in the sun, retire to the comfort of one of three bedrooms in the Bedroom Wing.

The master bedroom has a new king-sized bedroom set complete with brand new 'pillow-top' mattress. This larger room overlooks the pool, atrium and waterfront. For those early risers there are wonderful sunrises from this bedroom. The attached bathroom has a walk-in shower with built-in bench and the usual sink and toilet.

There are two other bedrooms - one with a queen-sized bed and another with two sets of bunk beds (sleeping four people each in their own bed). All the bedrooms have TVs and either a DVD player or VCR.

In the Bedroom Wing, there is also a full bathroom with a shower/ bathtub and half bath that also has a door out to the pool and serves as the pool bath so guests don't have to walk through the house while wet.

Bright and Airy Casual Comfort

The Living Wing is a collection of four rooms that consist of the central living room, kitchen, sunroom/dinette situated around the atrium room.

The living room is the central room of the house and has a large sectional sofa positioned in front of the new 42-inch LED TV, DVD player and CD stereo complete with MP3/IPod connections. In one corner of the living room is a desk with a computer printer. The house has wireless broadband internet connection. One nice feature of the living room is the wall of glass doors that overlooks the pool so guests can visit while still keeping an eye on the pool activities.

The open and airy kitchen has all the usual amenities including a large refrigerator with water/ice dispenser, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker. There are loads of pots, pans, flatware, plates and glasses for most occasions. Given the central location of the kitchen, the chef will never feel left out of the action and the large island breakfast bar allows others to help with preparation or just swap stories.

In the hallway there is a linen closet that includes beach towels, extra bath towels, bed linens and a vacuum cleaner.

Attached to the kitchen is the sunroom which has a dinette table that seats six, a well stocked book case, a TV visible from the sun room and kitchen as well as another sofa and loveseat that overlooks the pool area as well as the water.

The atrium room is a large 600 square foot room that has a tinted glass ceiling, a wall of sliding screen doors, as well as wall to wall patio doors to the living room, kitchen, dining room and one of the bedrooms. The screen doors can be pushed back to the sides so there is an uninterrupted view of the pool, backyard and the water. The bank of screen doors, vented roof and a ceiling fan help to keep the room cooler. This room is perfect for dining outside or relaxing on the contemporary 5 seat sectional.

Relax and Enjoy

There is plenty of room outside around the large, private pool that is heated both by a solar cover (on a roller for easy on/off) and a pool heater. Gentle steps and a hand rail provide easy access into the pool. Relax, read a book or nap in the sun on one of the many lounge chairs or enjoy an al fresco meal  at one of the tables and chairs around the pool. What’s for dinner? Maybe the catch of the day caught right off the dock or one of the local fish shops prepared on the Webber gas grill? If it’s the chef’s night off, head out to one of Marco’s numerous restaurants.

Regardless of whether you’re planning an active or relaxing vacation, we’ll do our best to ensure you’ll enjoy your stay.

Pure Relaxation

sunseekers (akron)
Review submitted: October 17, 2012   Date of arrival: September 29, 2012

We, (two couples and two young children,)enjoyed an incredibly relaxing week at this waterside villa. From the moment we walked in the door we felt at home. The owners had thought of everything - fully stocked kitchen including an in-counter grill, electric kettle, beach towels, blow dryers, pool toys, fishing gear, books, games, etc.

We spent much of the time outdoors which is where the house really stands out. There is an enclosed area that is partially shaded with a huge outdoor sofa/sectional great for reading, lounging or napping :). The kids loved the pool and spent hours there. The nice thing was they could get out of the pool and come into the enclosed area and not worry about being wet. We ate many of our meals out here. Also there was a huge back yard which seems to be unusual down here (I guess it's because everyone has a pool?) But it meant that when the kids got tired of playing in the pool they could run around and play games there.

We all enjoyed the huge dock - spotting dolphins, watching the birds, sun bathing and fishing of course.

The house was as described, very clean and the layout worked well for our group. The rental process was easy and we got our deposit back right away. We hope to be able to return and would highly recommend the house.

Thanks for a wonderful vacation!!!!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway

Wonderful Location!!!!

Our family has stayed at many vacation rental homes on Marco Island & this is our favorite! The location was perfect for fishing and relaxing in the sun. Our 3 boys ranging from ages 11-15 caught many fish off the very large dock, they also spent hours playing catch in the open backyard & swimming in the very warm pool. The description of the home was very accurate, we found it to be clean and well maintained. When we called the owners to assist with pool heat, someone arrived to help us almost immediately. We would highly recommend this house to families that are looking for a peaceful relaxing vacation next to water. We will be back again!!!!!

Disappointed

Tokyod (Tokyo japan)
Review submitted: December 29, 2012   Date of arrival: December 29, 2012

Very disappointed. House was old and dirty and door did not lock. My husband had to find tools to fix the front door so that we could leave. With that being said.....as disappointing as the house was, the location is great. Still not worth the money. I give it a 2 rating.
When I called agent to complain, I did not even receive an apology.

Recommended for: families with young children

Owners response: We try our best to ensure that all our guests thoroughly enjoy their stay so needless to say, as soon as I learned the guests weren’t happy, I called our cleaners to first confirm that they had indeed cleaned the house and to see when they would be available to address the guest’s concerns. I also contacted our handy man. We had installed a new TV and thermostat and the handyman had been to the house just prior to the guest’s arrival to touch up a couple of things. In his words the house was immaculate. I then went back to the guests to schedule a time for both the cleaners and the handyman to come to address their concerns and I also probed a bit more on what they actually meant by dirty. They said there was a Q-tip left in the bathroom, a small toy left in the bedroom and one of the screens was dusty. Obviously not what I would like, but I’m not sure I’d describe that as dirty. I then asked when they would like the cleaners and handyman to visit. They said the cleaners weren’t needed and we couldn’t coordinate schedules with times the handyman was available so they said we could wait until after they left.
I also discussed the situation with the agent who received the original call. She had said she was sorry to hear of their concerns on the call so she was rather baffled by the “no apology” comment and was left wondering what else the person was expecting other than maybe getting a discount. The guests stayed over New Year’s which is always a high demand week and priced accordingly. We truly wish we could have made the guests as happy as all our other guests and felt we did everything we could have.
