Breakers Resort-Paradise Tower Direct Ocean-Front in Myrtle Beach

We had a 1 week stay at Bob & Jan’s ocean front condo in the Breakers Resort’s Paradise Tower this July and we will definitely be returning on our next trip to Myrtle Beach.

We had previously stayed at other resorts in Myrtle Beach; however, we’ve come to prefer the Breakers Resort based on its amenities (numerous pools, several of which are covered), beachfront location (nearby Boardwalk and Broadway at the Beach), and overall condition of the building (the Paradise Tower was built in the early 2000’s). Considering the cost savings of renting this privately-owned condo compared to booking directly with the resort, the lack of daily maid service is a small price to pay considering the 25% savings. In fact, I didn’t consider the lack of maid service a problem; the room had plenty of towels, the trash bins were only 20’ from the front door, there was a vacuum in the closet had the floors became an issue, and quite honestly, I was more comfortable leaving cameras/cell phones/etc.. lying around the room knowing there wasn’t going to be a stranger in the room while we were out.

This 9th floor condo is identical to the one-bedroom units we’ve rented from the resort in the past…2 queen size beds (I believe) in the bedroom plus a Murphy bed in the living room, perfect for our family of 5. The owners have also provided numerous extras to make our stay more convenient…beach chairs/umbrella, boogie board, DVDs, board games, etc… Another advantage of renting this condo (as compared to a resort room) is there are many miscellaneous kitchen supplies left by previous renters (coffee filters, tin foil, dishwashing liquid, etc…) that normally would have to have been purchased had we rented directly from the resort.

The unit had an ample supply of bath towels & paper products (kitchen and bath), the HVAC was more than capable of keeping up with the 90 degree summer temperatures, and the clean-up crew between renters did a great job.

A very minor inconveniences is the strict 3pm check-in time. We completely understand the cleaning crew’s need to have sufficient time to clean-up between renters. We traditionally arrive very early when travelling to Myrtle Beach. When renting from the resort they inevitably have a room available. We were able to get a courtesy key from the front desk to use the changing room in the spa, so it really didn’t cut into our pool/beach time. In the long run, a clean room was our top priority any way.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
